1) Stolas are a post-hardcore formed in Las Vegas, NV on August 17th, 2011. They self-released their debut EP Losing Wings on February 25, 2012. They are currently signed to Blue Swan Records, through which they released their debut full-length album Living Creatures on March 14, 2013. Their second album Allomaternal is set to be released on October 15, 2014. Music can be downloaded at their Bandcamp page.

The lyrics to Stolas's song The Greatest Illusion describe the feeling of achieving a great freedom - the ability to fly. The singer describes how they felt as if the skies opened up and how natural it felt to move around in the air. They invoke the feeling of the wind wrapping around their skin, making them feel as though they are truly flying. As they fly higher, the singer describes how the heavens and all their mysteries open up to them, and they feel at peace.
However, this sense of peace is interrupted when the singer remembers someone they loved. This thought seems to dampen the freedom the singer felt and bring them back to reality. As they return to Earth, time catches up with them, and they feel cursed that they can never find the person they loved. They feel the pull of gravity, and it is clear that they cannot escape the planet. But the singer's desire to be reunited with their loved one is so strong that they vow to stay on Earth until the gods bring that person back to them.
The lyrics to The Greatest Illusion highlight the joy and freedom of achieving something great yet also draw attention to the sadness and sense of loss that can accompany such achievements.

Suddenly, and without warning, a dark, foreboding idea entered my mind.
I remembered the one I loved.
I recalled the memory of the person who holds a special place in my heart.
Upon my return, hastened in every way, My body aged, and I could never find her.
Upon my return to reality, I found that in spite of my rush, time had aged me, and the one I loved had disappeared without a trace.
I felt cursed in every bone. The Earth began to pull upon my flesh.
I felt cursed to live the rest of my life in the hope of finding my lost love, and the gravity of reality weighed heavily upon me.
It is here I will stay, Until the gods bring her back.
I will remain here, resolute, waiting for divine intervention to reunite me with the person I love.
