The title may possibly refer to a type of rifle cartridge (.30-30, with a 150-grain (9.7 g) bullet), though this is uncertain. According to Taylor, a possible interpretation of the song is about "always remembering who you are, where you came from and to never give into pressures."
Another interpretation of the song is based on the theory of the code 30/30-150. It means 'total nuclear annihilation.'
Another possibility is that on a protractor the 30 degree angle is the same as 150 degrees. Corey has stated in an issue of Hit Parader that 30/30-150 is about the generation in which he grew up. He stated that people always said his generation would never amount to anything, perhaps explaining the lyrics "they called us a dead generation" in the song.

Never say forever cause forever's a lie
I can see right through it so I can't ignore you
The story changes but the ending will bore you
I tried to tell you but you simply obeyed
They didn't listen so they threw you away
I don't wanna hear your bullshit
Is this what you want?
This is where it begins
This is where it ends
This is where it begins
And this is where it ends
They called us a dead generation,
They told us that we wouldn't survive
They left us alone in the maelstrom
As you can see we're all plenty alive
We know where you are and were coming
Lets see you say that shit to our face
Thirty
Thirty-one fifty remembers thirty
Thirty-one fifty hates
In my own peculiar way I feel mercurial
Before I get ahead of myself again
I know the where but I still don't know the when
You wanna live in a one sided world
Be prepared for a whole world of hurt
Now with the grand facade
I don't want to be an angel
I just want to be God
They called us a dead generation,
They told us that we wouldn't survive
They left us alone in the maelstrom
As you can see we're all plenty alive
We know where you are and were coming
Lets see you say that shit to our face
Thirty
Thirty-one fifty remembers thirty
Thirty-one fifty hates (hates)
Oh
I am a fucking machine fueled by the past
Memory's a memory until it's a fact
I can bury the hatchet and let some shit go
But I got too many grudges to hold!
Saw a lot of people die in the end
I never want to walk that road again
Now I will never give up
I don't want to have it all,
I just want to have enough
This is where it begins
This is where it ends
This is where it begins
And this is where it ends
They called us a dead generation,
They told us that we wouldn't survive
They left us alone in the maelstrom
As you can see we're all plenty alive
We know where you are and were coming
Lets see you say that shit to our face
Thirty
Thirty-one fifty remembers thirty
Thirty-one fifty hates (hates)
The lyrics to Stone Sour's song "30/30-150" touch on themes of perseverance, defiance, and rebellion against society's expectations of the younger generation. The opening lines speak to the idea of living life to the fullest, "I am a dominant gene, live as I die / Never say forever cause forever's a lie." The singer rejects the idea of forever or permanence and embraces a more live-for-the-moment attitude.
The chorus of the song echoes the sentiment of the younger generation being dismissed and belittled by their elders. "They called us a dead generation, / They told us that we wouldn't survive / They left us alone in the maelstrom / As you can see we're all plenty alive." The generation depicted in the song is angry and tired of being talked down to, and they express their frustration with lines like "I don't wanna hear your bullshit" and "I don't want to be an angel / I just want to be God."
The bridge of the song has a more introspective tone, with the singer reflecting on their personal struggles and the importance of living in the present moment. "In my own peculiar way I feel mercurial / Before I get ahead of myself again / I know the where but I still don't know the when." Ultimately, the song is an anthem of defiance and individuality, encouraging people to reject the expectations placed upon them by society and live life on their own terms.

Corey Taylor is one of the all-time greats when it comes to vocals.

HAHAHA, that’s why i thought the voice was too similar. 😂
@eddieelizabethhitler3259
Yep. He's up there with Bruce Dickinson and David Draiman. I couldn't pick a favourite from the three because each has something the others don't.

This is my favorite Stone Sour song. I feel like I can relate to the lyrics. I read that this song is about the people who told Corey he'd never amount to anything when he was in high school, and how he's proving them wrong. Some fellow students and some of my teachers in elementary and middle school said that stuff to me. But, I feel like I have a great life, and i think that I'm on the path to having a successful future. So yeah, fuck them and the things they told me.
