I'm rusted metal by your head
It's gotten out of hand again,
Nobody sees it, but I can
You thought of everything, I bet,
But did you think that I might die?
I haven't really smiled in
I don't know know how long, you know
Something's gonna give again
I tried to fight, but did you listen?
Even after you're gone, man, I'm finished
I could never be you god,
But then I don't even think I want the job anymore
Say something, anything to me,
I do believe, but I have doubts
So many reasons to hold on,
Conflicting interest isn't it
I guess I'm better off in the end,
Cause you were always there to blame
I haven't felt so bad in
I don't know how long, you know
I can't get away again,
I can't get away again
I tried to fight, but did you listen?
Even after you're gone, man, I' finished
I could never be your god,
But then I don't even think I want the job, you see
I tried to fight, but did you listen?
Even after you're gone, man, I' finished
I could never be your god,
But then I don't even think I want the job anymore
What am I supposed to do now?
How am I supposed to live now?
All I ever did was try,
But the story ends,
So I guess I'll have to die
Where am I supposed to go now?
Go ahead and go away
What am I supposed to do now?
How am I supposed to live now?
All I ever did was try,
But the story ends,
So I guess I'll have to die
What am I supposed to do now?
How am I supposed to live now?
What am I supposed to do now?
How am I supposed to live now?
How am I supposed to live
The lyrics to Stone Sour's "Your God" express feelings of frustration, despair, and helplessness. In the first verse, the singer asks someone to reveal a truth that they have been keeping hidden. They feel like they are rusted metal by this person's head, suggesting that they are being held captive by the situation at hand. The singer acknowledges that the situation has gotten out of hand and nobody else seems to see it but them. They mention that the person they are speaking to probably thought of everything, but did they consider the possibility that the singer might die? The singer admits that they haven't smiled in a long time and they feel like something is going to give again. The chorus suggests a sense of defeat - the singer tried to fight, but the other person didn't listen. The singer cannot be this person's God, nor do they want the job anymore.
The second verse talks about conflicting interests and the fact that the singer feels like they are better off because the other person was always there to blame. The singer mentions feeling bad and unable to escape. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the singer's feeling of being finished and not wanting to be someone's God. The bridge questions what the singer is supposed to do now that the story has ended, and suggests that dying may be the only option. The last lines repeat the same questions about what to do now and how to live.
Overall, the lyrics tell a story of someone struggling to make sense of a situation where they feel trapped and helpless. They have tried to fight but feel like nobody listens to them. The ultimate message seems to be one of defeat and the question of how to move forward when all seems lost.

These are the games you played
You divided your creation
Look what you've done
It can be undone
These are the games you played
You divided your creation
Look what you've done
Look what you've done
Look what you've done to us
I walk through the darkness
Because god, you cursed the light
This cruelty, lead me to blasphemy
To walk in shame
You don't heal whats unforgiving
Just watch as we go by
We all fight to find the purpose
Just like all mankind
God, will you open your eyes
I said, God, will you open your eyes
These are the games you played
You divided your creation
Look what you've done
It can be undone
These are the games you played
You divided your creation
Look what you've done
Look what you've done
Look what you've done to us
The world was your nation
Everyone knew your name
We're all lost in translation
In defining your ways
Do you condone your mistakes?
Do you regret what you have done?
You broken up your people
You've broken my heart
God, will you open your eyes
I said, God, will you open your eyes
These are the games you played
You divided your creation
Look what you've done
It can be undone
These are the games you played
You divided your creation
Look what you've done
Look what you've done
Look what you've done to us
Look what you've done to me
