Touch And Go
Storm Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm looking for some love tonight, tell me what's your plan
Are we gonna play hide and seek, or catch me if you can
I'm looking for a reason now, baby you can bet
It isn't gonna be that easy
What you see just may not be the same as what you get

[Chorus:]
Touch and go - I'm right here, I'm ready and I'm able
Don't say no - oh no, it's nothing more than
Touch and go - she's right there with a wiggle and a giggle
Touch and go, always touch and go

I flip the switch and the lights go on, but there's nobody home
This time I'll leave it up to you, let me know when you're ready to go
Up, down, in and out, your love runs hot and cold
They're all calling you a shoulda, woulda, coulda
So make it, don't you fake it or just leave me alone

[Chorus]

Flip, Flop, who's on top, gotta keep going on till we drop
Oh no, I don't know, down the road I go

[Chorus]
Touch and go - high strung pretty little fly
Don't say no - oh no, don't tell me you've been thinking
Touch and go - loose cannon giving me the willies

Touch and go, always touch and go
Touch and go, go ahead and touch me

Overall Meaning

The song "Touch and Go" by Storm is about a person who is looking for love and questioning their lover's intentions. The singer asks their lover about their plans for the night, stating that they are ready and willing to play any game the lover might have in mind. However, the singer is aware that finding real love might not be as easy as it seems. It can be difficult to know what a person's intentions truly are, and what they show on the surface might not be consistent with what they feel on the inside.

The chorus of the song sums up the idea of "touch and go," describing the relationship as fleeting and unpredictable. The singer is ready to engage with their lover, but the ultimate outcome is uncertain. The metaphor of flipping a switch and finding nobody home suggests disappointment and disconnection in the relationship, whilst "up, down, in and out" reinforces that there is no stability in the love between the two.

Despite the uncertainty and the potential for disappointment, the singer is willing to take a chance and see where things go. They want to make sure that they and their lover are on the same page, but they are ready to explore the relationship further. The final line - "go ahead and touch me" - suggests a willingness to be vulnerable and engage in an intimate connection, however fleeting.

Loved seeing this and hearing Jerry's "Touch and go, touch and go" down here in Australia. It was bonus, as I had watched it live on Big Jet TV only hours before.

Jerry, your channel is absolute magic! Keep up the great work. I won’t be forgetting this live cast for a long time.

If you look carefully, you see that during the balked landing the 777 still had landing flap set as it became airborne again. That is the difference between a balked landing and a touch and go. Although go-arounds are practised a lot in the sim, balked landings are rarely tackled. I am sure that might change now after this.

I loved seeing this live and being able to revisit it again now. A truly brilliant stream, immediately subscribed.

Interesting how a touch and go scores in the take-off/landing cycles count of that aircraft. Is it registered as a full, half or naught?

Shane Kelly

LHR landings accompanied with a cockney commentary......brilliant 😂

Wish it lasted longer than 1 minute, he cheered like it was a soccer game, lol.
