Bar Room Brawl
Straight Line Stitch Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's nothing to defend
Nothing left but regret
It's the beginning of the end

What's it all been for?
I can't take it anymore
You take all we give
And now it's time to burn the bridge

We've been set up for the fall
Now they've come to kill us all
The time has come
The time has come

In this world all we've done is hold each other back
To be the one that's the leader of the pack
Blood on your hands but it's all the same
It's the warm up before the game

Tell me how it's supposed to be
I've done to you what you've done to me
So many fatalities, so many broken dreams
So many unheard screams, it's beyond extreme

By the time you reach out
No one can save you now
And see the truth
No one can save you now

It'll be no use
No one can save you now
It's overdue
No one can save you now

What's it all been for?
I can't take it anymore
You take all we give
And now it's time to burn the bridge

We've been set up for the fall
Now they've come to kill us all
The time has come

You hate me and you hate yourself
Don't lie 'cause it bad for your health
All the wrongs that you can't put to rights
How do you sleep at night?

No time to wonder
No one will save you
No man to take us under
You'll see the truth
You'll see the truth

We can't fall under
We must transcend
It's the beginning of the end
It's the beginning of the end

By the time you reach out
No one can save you now
And see the truth
No one can save you now

It'll be no use
No one can save you now

It's overdue
No one can save you now

Overall Meaning

"Bar Room Brawl" by Straight Line Stitch is a song about rebellion and standing up against those who have held them back for far too long. The opening lyrics "There's nothing to defend, nothing left but regret, it's the beginning of the end" sets the tone of the song, indicating that there is no more defending and the time for action has come. The lyrics speak about being set up for the fall and now being hunted down, yet the band reminds themselves that they can't fall under and must transcend. The song also calls out those who have held them back and asks what it's all been for. The lyrics "In this world all we've done is hold each other back, to be the one that's the leader of the pack, blood on your hands but it's all the same, it's the warm-up before the game" indicate the frustration of the band and their peers. They believe they're all pitted against each other for power, and it's a never-ending cycle.

The chorus of "What's it all been for? I can't take it anymore, you take all we give, and now it's time to burn the bridge" speaks to the idea that they are no longer willing to give and be held back. It's time to burn the bridge and move forward. The lyrics argue that there has been so much damage done that it's overdue for change, and no one can save them from the consequences anymore. The song ends with a declaration that it's the beginning of the end, a final goodbye to the cycle of being held back and starting anew.

@Blue J
Obviously, you don't have to state that like it changes any facts.

If you wanted Death Metal, there are plenty other bands out there that do 100% hard vocals.

This band was simply not that so for you to even come here looking for that is foolish.

This song was potential?
No you mean IS the potential. This song is heavy as fuck with a mix of soft and hard vocals which allows the listener to experience RANGE. Similar to how Jinjer makes their songs but with heavy influence on Bass.

Again, be open minded!
