This [their 3rd official release in as many years] can only be described as a Pop-Punk meets Alternative Rock masterpiece...
Matt G. Aug 2006, in “Hussieskunk”, “Strait A Students is often times hilarious with their lyrics, especially sharp with their instruments and sound, but most importantly, the music is fun and entertaining without losing integrity of becoming too poppy and not enough punky!”

Now a bit about the men behind the power chords...
Ryan
“The Joker”
Led by the Hi-Jinks of Founding member Lead Singer/ Guitarist Ryan Richardson, he is animated and dynamic with wit that keeps even the most indifferent crowds thoroughly entertained.
-------------------------------------------------
Ian
“The Rebel”
Bassist Ian Graham's style is noted as "Razor Sharp". Armed with a StingRay bass guitar, this tall and tattoo'd dude sounds as good as the ladies say he looks. He tops it off with angelic harmonies and consistent energy throughout each and every live show. At 6'3, his high flying rock jumps can cause bodily injury so look out...
-------------------------------------------------
Elliot
“The Thinker”
Not to be outdone is the laid-back persona of Elliot Starks. Elliot lends that "Calm Before the Storm" kind of cool to the band and might be the sexiest Northwest musician you haven't heard of. Although he does not say alot, he'll let his fingers do the talking with intricate leads and dead on guitar harmonies.
-------------------------------------------------
Gabe
“The DON”
Co-founding member and percussion specialist Gabe Rodriguez lays the beat down and keeps the family together.
-------------------------------------------------
Strait A Students upcoming release will embody a force so strong, head banging, with devil hand raised to the heavens will not be a rare side-effect!
“The Pursuit of Hopelessness” … The future of this band is anything but! Due out in late Spring 2008...

Strait A Students Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
This song tells the story of a group of young Americans who decide to head to Canada for a wild adventure, seeking the freedom to drink and indulge in illegal drugs without fear of getting caught. The song describes the group packing up their car and heading to the border, nervously hoping to make it through customs with their drugs still hidden in their car. Despite the risk of getting caught, the group manages to cross the border successfully and immediately head to a strip club, where they enjoy the freedom and excitement of Canada's more permissive laws.
Line by Line Meaning
Last night we packed our shit into the Volvo,
We gathered our belongings into our vehicle the previous night
Getting up early and we'll be drunk soon.
Despite waking up early, we will soon be intoxicated
We fill the tank and we're headin for the border,
After refueling our vehicle, we are heading toward the border
Stuck in customs on shrooms.
We are detained at customs while under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs
I can't believe we left a nug inside my glovebox,
I am surprised that we forgot marijuana in my car's compartment
When we get out I'm gonna kill my bro.
When we are released, I will be angry with my friend for forgetting the marijuana in the car
We're going to Canada cause the USA is stupid.
We are traveling to Canada because we believe the United States is foolish
We're going to Canada where the booze is not deluted.

Prostitutes at 12AM sounds sweet...
We find the idea of hiring sex workers at midnight appealing
In Canada, In Canada...
We are emphasizing the fact that we are in Canada
Don't understand how we were able to get over,
We are confused about how we were able to cross the border
Anally raped if we had gone to jail.
We fear that we would have been sexually assaulted if we were incarcerated
But now it's over and we're sitting in the strip club,
Now that we are out of customs, we are enjoying ourselves at a strip club
Tities on our faces drinking ale.
We are drinking beer while having women's breasts pressed against our faces
Canada makes you smile when you're 19 or twenty,
When you are 19 or 20 years old, Canada is a place that makes you happy
But if you're 21 there's still a lot of fun!
However, even when you are 21 years old, there is still much enjoyment to be had
We're proud Americans, but it makes no sense,
Although we are proud to be Americans, it does not seem logical
I can die at 18 years, but no intoxicants.
I am able to legally die at the age of 18, but I cannot legally consume alcohol or drugs
