Around the World in Eighty Days
Stray Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Together on our magic carpet ride
The great balloon it drifts towards the skies
Each wind that blew along our way
Would help us travel everyday
As we travel over land and sea
The sight below makes lovely scenery
The sailing ships, the wooden mills
Around the world in eighty days
Around the world, the clouds a maze
We'll take you to the sky
Together we will fly
When we got home, the people were amazed
This balloon could last for eighty days
It took us to the sky
Together we did fly
Around the world in eighty days
Around the world, the clouds a maze
We'll take you to the sky
Together we will fly
Around the world in eighty days
Around the world, the clouds a maze
We'll take you to the sky
Together we will fly
The above lyrics belong to the song 'Around the World in Eighty Days' by Stray, and they describe an experience of adventure and travel. The song seems to be inspired by the famous book 'Around the World in Eighty Days' by Jules Verne, which tells a story of a man named Phileas Fogg, who embarks on a journey to circumnavigate the world in 80 days. The lyrics take the listeners on a magical journey on a hot air balloon, where they witness the breathtaking view of the world from above.
The lyrics use vivid imagery and descriptive language to capture the essence of the journey. The mention of 'magic carpet ride' and 'great balloon' creates a mythical and mystical aura around the journey, preparing the listeners for an otherworldly experience. The line 'Each wind that blew along our way/ Would help us travel everyday' signify the unpredictability of travelling, where one needs to adapt and embrace the journey as it comes along. The experience seems surreal as they witness the 'splashing waves, the rolling hills/ The sailing ships, the wooden mills,' reminding us that while travelling we witness extraordinary and diverse sights. The final line of the song 'We'll take you to the sky/ Together we will fly' solidifies the bond between travellers and the shared experiences they enjoy while travelling.
