Let There Be Light
Stryper Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

On the first day, He made Heaven, then earth and said "let there be light"
Then He separated the water from the sky
The ground becomes land, and waters became the seas, He was pleased
Trees would take root, and live to bear fruit

Let there be light, day and a night
Stars shining bright, let there be light
And then upon the fifth day, fish would swim and birds could fly
Land-bearing creatures, all according to their kind
And so it shall be, a man and a woman after Thee, and He was pleased
Soon they'll increase and rule every beast

Let there be light, day and a night
Stars shining bright, let there be light

Let there be light, day and a night
Stars shining bright, let there be light

JOHN 1:1-5 (KJV)

1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

According to Genesis, GOD said, "Let there be light!"

Now Abracadabra is an incantation. It comes from Aramaic & means "I speak as the word."

GOD spoke into the darkness & created the light using the concept behind Abracadabra.

Think about that a minute.

& we have this same power because GOD gave us THEIR Spoken Word, Jesus Christ The Living Son of GOD.

Crazy how Stryper are like the last REAL big 80's band who kept their sound and identity and are rockin harder than ever in 2015.Crue,Ratt,W.a.s.p...everyone else is falling apart or almost done.

It probably has to do with the fact that they're indwelled by the Holy Spirit. That kind of thing tends to make a big difference.

I don't want to say it's the last.. Queensryche, Grave Digger, Blind Guardian, Megadeth, Helloween, Death Angel, Metal Church, Kreator, Bonfire, Stratovarius, Vicious Rumors and Running Wild all still come out with pretty good material..

This might be my favorite Stryper song ever. I hope my neighbors like it too.

30+ years since they began and Stryper is creating, in my opinion, the best material of their career. Absolutely amazing.

Hadn't listened to Stryper in years, maybe more like a decade or so. Wasn't even aware the band had reunited and was cranking out new stuff until running across this album by total accident a few days ago here on youtube. Ordered, it'll be in my car within a week. This is a strong album, guys. Excellent job. And thanks for this style of metal that I dearly love, without the darkness underneath. And thanks also for that ballad, All Over Again... doesn't really fit with the rest of the album, but who cares - it stands on its own.
