In Stylo G's song Call Me A Yardie, the lyrics depict a sense of pride of being a Jamaican or "yardie" as they call themselves. The first line of the song, "We are yardie, yardie, and we go thru di jam Bob Marley," refers to the fact that Jamaicans are often associated with the reggae icon Bob Marley. The phrase "yardie" is a term used to describe Jamaicans living in the UK who often cling to their Jamaican identity and culture.
The lyrics also touch on the artist's love for luxury cars such as the Benz, Beemers, and Harley motorcycles. The lines "Mi luv Benz and Beemers and Harley" repeated throughout the song, emphasize this point. The mention of the Blackberry phone that rings anytime a girl calls also reveals the artist's fancy lifestyle.
There is also a line that references Marcus Garvey, a prominent Jamaican political leader who advocated for pan-Africanism and the upliftment of black people worldwide. The line "Mi a fight for right like Marcus Garvey" shows that the artist is striving for justice and equality.
Overall, the lyrics of Call Me A Yardie celebrate Jamaican culture, boast the luxurious lifestyle of the artist, and convey a message of political activism.
