At the tender age of 19 he came to London to seek his fortune. Luckily, one of his demo CDs was given to Andy C by one of his friends. Andy liked it so much he immediately tried to ring the young Subfocus. Unfortunately his friend had written the number wrongly on the CD.
Andy was impressed enough with the track that he tried to guess the number and was successful.
This led to some releases on Frequency recordings (Ram's sister label for developing artists) including Soundguy and Acid Test. These releases were well received so Subfocus started getting some releases on Ram Recordings.
Some of these have been extremely popular - 'X Ray' being a huge tune in 2005 and 'Airplane' was one of the tunes of WMC 2006.
Subfocus is currently working on an album which is as yet untitled.

I'll pick you up

Falling down again
I'll pick you up
Falling down again
I'll pick you up

Falling down
The lyrics to Subfocus's song "Falling Down" appear to be a message of reassurance and support to someone who keeps experiencing setbacks and struggles in their life. The repetition of the phrase "falling down again" suggests that this person has been through these rough patches before, and the singer is acknowledging that fact. However, the line "I'll pick you up" shows that the singer is willing to be there for this person, to support them and help them get back on their feet.
The repetition of the phrase "falling down" also has a sense of inevitability to it - the idea that at some point, we will all experience failures or hardships. But the singer is reminding the listener that they don't have to go through it alone. Even in the midst of difficult times, they can count on someone to be there for them. The lack of further lyrics or context leaves it open to interpretation as to who exactly the singer is addressing, but the overall message is one of empathy and support.
