Sublime with Rome performed their first gig together in February 2009 near Gaugh's home in Nevada, followed by an appearance at Cypress Hill's Smokeout Festival in San Bernadino that October. On April 20, 2010, the band embarked on their first-ever US tour with dates going into that fall. After positive reaction on the road, Sublime with Rome released a debut album on Fueled By Ramen records in July 2011.
In December 2011, Bud Gaugh revealed in an interview that he would be leaving Sublime With Rome and KROQ's Accoustic Christmas would be his last show. He saying he wanted to go home and spend more time with his family. He later went on to say "It was really good for the first few months, after that, it just felt wrong. Not playing the songs but playing them with the name Sublime, without Brad." When asked if he saw the band reuniting in the future Gaugh replied "No, I am done with SWR. I would be into playing music with Eric Wilson, however." He was replaced by Josh Freese.
My World

I don't think so
I'm my own worst enemy
And that's, and that's
Perfectly fine with me
Because I live my whole life
Living this exactly
That you shove up in my face
I live by my own standards
And I'm happy living, living life
My world
Is a little bit safer
And I drink
Malt liquor in paper
I get high
Get high off the vapor
'Cause my world is a little bit safer
Stack up my arms
'Cause I'm coming in swingin'
Might kill my hand
With the fury of a demon, oh
Gotta catch up and my head's up in the clouds
And I like it that way and there's no coming down
'Cause I seek and destroy
And your world is my new toy
I guess on my blood pressure
I am not damn sure
And I swear to God,
It's weighin' down on your mind
My world
Is a little bit safer
And I drink
Malt liquor in paper
I get high
Get high off the vapor
'Cause my world a little bit safer
Little bit safer now , oh oh oh
What are you waiting for?
A grand finale?
Oh, here's my throne and crown
In my head, I'm the king of the whole damn nation
And tonight's the night that it burns all down
Eyes sit like voodoo
Heads are messed like hoodoo
But I'm perfectly happy inside my head
Watch as you crazy, makes me perfectly insane
In my world I know I can make it
In my world, nobody can take me now
Oh, there's no more controlling me
What are we waiting for?
In my world, in my world
Oh oh oh oh
I'm a little bit safer
In my world, in my world
The Sublime with Rome song "My World" expresses a sense of self-reliance and individuality, with the singer rejecting attempts to control or influence him by outside forces. He admits to being his own worst enemy but embraces it, content with living his life on his own terms. The repeated refrain of "my world is a little bit safer" suggests that the singer finds a sense of security in his own mindset and way of life, as well as in consuming substances like malt liquor and vapor.
The lyrics in the first verse suggest a rebellious attitude toward societal norms, with the singer rejecting conformity and instead living by his own standards. He repeats this sentiment in the second verse, saying that he seeks to destroy others' worlds and make his own rules. The bridge takes a darker turn, with the singer claiming to be the king of his own nation and expressing a desire to burn everything down. The song ends with a sense of defiance and individual power, with the singer declaring that he is in control and safe in his own world.
Overall, "My World" portrays a complex mix of independence, rebellion, and even aggression, with the singer finding security in his own mindset and rejecting external forces.
