The band released their debut "In Due Time" on Wind Up Records in September of 2004.
Submersed delivered a catchy melodic rock. The band demonstrated some unexpected musical similarities to European post-doom bands such as: Entwine, later Katatonia material, and Evereve. Less surprising are hints of Canadian rock act Our Lady Peace. And sounding eerily similar to Creed this is a great band to listen to.
After Submersed disbanded, Donald Carpenter and Garret Whitlock have started a new band, called Eye Empire. (myspace.com/eyeempire)

Go on unanswered
So many times,
There are things we leave undone
What is the prize,
Ones before us have payed
For the steps that they have made
(Oh, will they breathe again?)
Or will they die again?
Yeah
All I,
All I ever wanted,
Was a dream to believe in
We lie,
Every single moment
When my,
When my dreams come true
Maybe in the answers,
Of those same questions
Were right in front of us all along
Written in riddles,
Timeless prayers,
Hidden in lines of timeless songs
Oh will they breathe again?
Through our passion
Or will they die again?
Yeah
All I,
All I ever wanted,
Was a dream to believe in
We lie,
Every single moment
When my,
When my dreams come true
All I,
All I ever wanted,
Was a dream to believe in
We lie,
Every single moment
When my,
When my dreams come true
All I,
All I ever wanted,
Was a dream to believe in
We lie,
Every single moment
When my,
When my,
When my dreams come true
Yeah
Yeah
Yeah
The lyrics of Submersed's song "An Artist Prayer" speak of the uncertainty and questions that seem to go unanswered in life. The artist behind the song seems to be grappling with the idea that sometimes, we leave things undone or fail to understand what has gone before us. The lyrics suggest that perhaps the answers to these unanswered questions were right in front of us all along - they may have been "written in riddles, timeless prayers, hidden in lines of timeless songs".
The chorus repeats the idea expressed in the opening lines: "All I ever wanted was a dream to believe in". It suggests that despite the uncertainties and unanswered questions, the artist still harbors hope and wants to believe in something. However, the lyrics also reveal a sense of disillusionment: "We lie, every single moment, when my dreams come true". This line seems to suggest that even when the artist's dreams are realized, there is still a sense of unfulfillment or disappointment.
Overall, the lyrics of "An Artist Prayer" capture the sense of uncertainty and hope that often accompanies the creative process. The artist seems to be searching for answers and grappling with questions about the nature of life and the pursuit of dreams.
