Bright Spring Morning
Suburban Legends Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The time is right to begin
Lets get going once again
For once in your life just let go
I'm getting sick of everything
Scared of what the next day brings
What I need is for you to follow my lead

The sun is shinning bright outside
I think I'll go for a ride
I plan not to ever return
Lets run away from here for good
Forget this dusty neighborhood
The open road is calling and begging for us
Go roll down the window
Go crank up that radio
Lets drive until we hit the sky
It's not about where we will go
Lets start living life before we die

If you want you can stay
But you'll regret the day
That you didn't follow your dreams
Imagine the wind in your hair
Blowing away all of your cares
So take my hand lets plan never to look back.

True, it's all in my dreams
Yeah
You are all in my dreams
Yeah
What I need is a long holiday
What I need is to get away
From here for good tonight
Lets fly away tonight
On this bright spring morning

Send our spirits soaring
Cause now is the time

Overall Meaning

The song "Bright Spring Morning" by Suburban Legends is about breaking free from the mundanity of life and embracing the sense of adventure that comes with being young. The opening lines of the song suggest a call to action, encouraging listeners to recognize that the time is right to begin something new. The singer expresses a desire to leave their current situation behind, noting that they're getting fed up with everything and are scared about what the future will bring if they don't make a change. What they need is for someone to follow their lead and help them break free.

The second half of the song embraces the idea of hitting the open road and exploring new horizons. The singer talks about going for a ride in the bright sunshine, with no intention of coming back. They want to run away from their dull neighborhood and start anew somewhere else. The idea of leaving everything behind and not looking back is emphasized, with the lyrics suggesting that listeners should take the singer's hand and never regret not following their dreams. Despite the dream-like quality of the song's lyrics, there is a sense of urgency about the need to seize the day and start living joyfully.

Saw them perform live in Disneyland on New Years Eve. I was there with my HS marching band, and being a trumpet player I really appreciated their brass.

How would someone possess enough hate to dislike this song?!

@300Z31

Hell yeah it is. Great album, great band...love them Live. When they played Under The Sea last year here in Baltimore...oh man...so bad ass. I hope they come back to the east coast sometime.

@rebimpskitzo8489

2022 and still one of the most uplifting songs everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

@MMRSCITT

3:22. B-e-a-utiful. Rump-Shaker is a great album. Also at the show I saw I think RBF really brought it (London, last show of their tour) but Suburban Legends were as good and I found it really strange that a lot of the younger kids had no idea who they were. I felt old! By the end though the crowd came alive and it was great to see; the Legends deserve to recoup some of the enormous energy they give to the fans

@TheChumunga

I love every version of this song!

@Sajuek

Saw these guys live in London 25.02.11, they really upstaged Reel Big Fish, awesome band lots of energy.

@CrackingCJWS

He may not have been in the band long but he still was part of the band which means they would have seen something they liked, but even though he went on to become the drummer of Avenged Sevenfold he was still their drummer for quite a bit and you shouldn't forget him even though he wasn't part of this Album, it's still nice to remember the band members who were once part of the band. Like Dallas Cook

@EllasAramond

I saw them last night on the same tour. I think my favorite part was the fact that during each band's set, they all talked about each other. I'm not used to seeing that in concerts.

@bofo85

these guys are sick! i remember they played at Disneyland for our Grade Nite back in 2003. damn, do i feel old =S
