Pequeñas delicias de la vida conyugal
Sui Generis Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Mucho desayunos y ningun Clarin
The lyrics of Sui Géneris's song "Pequeñas delicias de la vida conyugal" reflect the ups and downs of a relationship. The first verse starts with a contradictory statement, "Tenes todo y nada para dar" which means "You have everything and nothing to give." This could signify the feeling of being stuck in a relationship where one partner feels they have given their all while the other hasn't reciprocated. The following questions "Cuantas calles bajaste antes de llegar? Cuantos timbres tocaste antes de entrar?" could be interpreted as asking how much effort was made to get to this stage in the relationship, and whether it was worth it.
The second verse is more hopeful, as the singer refers to their partner as a "Pacificadora de querer" or a "Peacemaker of love" and acknowledges that there is still a long journey together. The lines "No llores nena que no es la muerte" translates to "Don't cry baby, it's not death" and could mean not to despair over trivial issues. The next lines "Bajo los techos alumbra el sol" could be seen as an optimistic outlook i.e. "The sun still shines even on cloudy days". "Estoy en busca de lo naranja y verde" means "I am in search of orange and green" and could mean that the singer is still searching for the brighter and happier things in life.
The third verse can be interpreted as a reflection on the shortness of life and the need to live without regret. The line "Vendra la luna por la mañana, y tal vez todo termine en nada" translates to "The moon will come in the morning, and maybe everything will end in nothing" could be understood as a reference to the transience of life. The last verse is a promise between partners to stick together, no matter how tough times may get.
