SOS
Suicide Machine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I take a look around, I don't like what I see
A bunch of people who don't know shit about Unity
I see right through your skin, you say you see through mine
Then please explain to me why we fight all the time
I can't take it anymore, this is bothering me
Got people killing each other
Why does this have to be?
I wish I knew, I really wish I knew
How people can see there's no real difference between me and you

It's a bomb with a short fuse
And I know it seems like no use
The tension's building a reaction
This is a call to action

S.O.S. we need help [Repeat x4]

Man's inhumanity towards another man
It's man's insanity and ignorance again
And now the time had come to stop what's going on
The hatred's building up, exploding like a bomb

It's a bomb with a short fuse
And I know it seems like no use
The tension's building a reaction
This is a call to action

S.O.S. we need help [Repeat x4]

The bomb is gotta stop the bomb is gonna pop! [Repeat x4]

It's a bomb, it's a bomb!

It's a bomb with a short fuse
And I know it seems like no use
The tension's building a reaction
This is a call to action

S.O.S. we need help [Repeat x4]

Drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop, drop!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "S.O.S." by Suicide Machines lament the lack of unity among people, highlighting the futility of fighting and killing each other. The song opens with the singer looking around and being dissatisfied with what he sees - a world where people don't understand the concept of unity. The singer questions people's supposed understanding of others by asking, "Then please explain to me why we fight all the time." He is frustrated and bothered by the fact that people are constantly killing each other and wishes to find a way for people to truly comprehend that there is no real difference between each other.

The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "S.O.S. we need help" four times, calling for intervention to put a stop to "man's insanity and ignorance again." The singer stresses that the tension is building, and unless there is immediate intervention, it will explode like a bomb. The song ends with a proclamation that the bomb needs to stop before it explodes, and the urgent call-to-action is emphasized by the final drop of the track.

Overall, Suicide Machines' "S.O.S." urges people to look past their differences and embrace unity before it's too late. It implores society to take responsibility for its actions and to actively work towards combating hatred and building a more inclusive and peaceful world.
