Doesn't matter how 'different' or 'special' or 'anti' you think 'you' or 'your music' are, it all follows the simple rules of music theory, to a point, at which ANYBODY which understands it, can recreate ANY genre within a few minutes.
Sure, it'll lack the artistic vision and creativity but it will be recognized as the genre by general listeners of it ;)

There's a great channel doing exactly this, just teling you "Okay we'll do X" then show the process and in the end present the song.

Unfortunately, as it's a german youtuber, the content is pretty much not interesting for most ppl due to the language barrier

In 2006, I gave a speech to a crowded room of what are now called millenials about how there are basically no musical acts that were formed in the previous 10 years that would be around long enough to make it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the only bands that they could come up with as potential candidates were Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers (which were formed in 1987 and 1983, respectively. Shows how much musical knowledge they had as a group, as well)

Kind of interesting that the kind of bands that ARE still relevant today that are from that era (Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, Taylor Swift, and Maroon 5 immediately come to mind) are only still relevant because they completely dropped their previous genres and switched to making corporate pop. Really the only bands still kicking from that era that also kept their genres are metal acts like Sabaton and Sonata Arctica, but no one would consider them influential enough to ever be considered for the Hall. 15 years later, I still maintain my original assertion that no band formed between 1996 and 2006 will ever make it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and it's worth noting that bands that released their first record in 1996 are now eligible for nomination

Haven´t seen this video in probably 15 years... wow, time is flying! I remember when this was on MTV and all I cared about was hanging out with my friends, skate and spending my summers at the public swimming pool. It was nice to be a teen in the late 90s/early 2000s 🙂
