Reclaimer
Summoner Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Down from the hill
That washed away
A foreign wind

Up from below
Drawn into sky
Crawling over land
Reclaimer

The Sea no longer guides on
Weathered eyes look to the sky

These barren lands
Once buried deep
Below the tide

Now desert sea
Descend to dust
Return to Earth again

Red sun black sky

Surrender to the void
Burning to my soul

Overall Meaning

The opening lines to Summoner's song Reclaimer paint a picture of a landscape that has been drastically altered by some sort of natural disaster. The hill that once stood tall and strong has been washed away, and a foreign wind is blowing through the region. The next lines suggest that the devastation is even more widespread - not just the ground, but even the sea is no longer a reliable guide. "Weathered eyes look to the sky" suggests that the singer is in search of some sort of guidance or hope, but there is none to be found on this barren land. The repetition of the word "Reclaimer" suggests that there may be some sort of hope for renewal or restoration, but it is not yet clear what that entails.
