The Interloper
Summoner Lyrics

Across the endless sea of sand
Death awaits the followers too blind to see
The interloper. The chosen one
Crucify them in the dust
Their time has come
Relentless in the hunt
Betrayer on cloven hoof
Like an iron fist
He will bring the hammer down
Their voices rise and fall
One above them all
Their eyes pierce through the shadows
Rank with hate and fear
The world is moving on
Back into the sea
Bound for the setting sun
None left to speak
There in the failing light
The bodies left behind
Set sail through tides of sand
If only in my mind
The lyrics of Summoner's song "The Interloper" are full of vivid imagery and symbolism. The context of the song appears to be a dying town that rests across an endless sea of sand. Death is imminent for those who fail to see the interloper - the chosen one. The followers are crucified in the dust as their time has come. In such a scenario, the deathless one is relentless in the hunt and will bury them all.
The interloper, in the song, is portrayed as a betrayer on cloven hoof, whose iron fist brings the hammer down. Among the followers, one voice rises above the rest, and their eyes pierce through the shadows rank with hate and fear. The world seems to be moving on, back into the sea, bound for the setting sun. There's no one left to speak, and the bodies left behind set sail through tides of sand. However, the ending line of the song provides an interesting twist - "If only in my mind." This suggests that the world may not be moving on in reality, but rather, the singer is imagining an apocalyptic scenario where the interloper reigns supreme.
Overall, "The Interloper" is a dark and foreboding song, filled with rich imagery and symbolism that leave a lot of room for interpretation. It's a cautionary tale about blindly following those in power and the consequences that come with such actions.
