In 1997 Sunday Driver added second guitarist Charlie Suarez, and in 1999 they met drummer Paul Trust, thus completing the line up know today as Sunday Driver. In 2009, Sunday Driver were the opening band at the first UK Steampunk Festival, held at The Lawn Asylum, Lincoln, the same year they opened the Cambridge Folk Festival.

Snow Song
Sunday Driver Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The party's been and gone
Am I the only one left breathing...?
Tread light on the ground
White feet that make no sound
You've got to have a dream to believe in
Nobody can look in
Aaa-haaa, let it go
all covered up by blowing snow
Feels like growing old
White fingers stiff and cold
the aching bones, the skin-like paper
Snow stop moving on
The party's been and gone
They never had a chance to wake up...
Breathe out, breathe in
Nobody can look in
Aaa-haaa, let it go
all covered up by blowing snow...
all covered up by blowing snow...
all covered up by blowing snow, blowing snow....
Snow... by blowing snow...
Aaa-haaa, aaa-haaa-haaa
Snow... taaa-da-da daaa-daaa-daaa-daaa
taaa-da-da taaa-da-da daaa-daaa-daaa-daaa daaa...
The lyrics of "Snow Song" by Sunday Driver are a poignant reflection on the passing of time and the inevitability of aging. The opening lines evoke a sense of loneliness and isolation - the singer has been left behind while others have moved on. The imagery of "white feet that make no sound" is eerily quiet, while the refrain "breathe out, breathe in, nobody can look in" reinforces the sense of solitude.
As the song progresses, the lyrics become more introspective, with the singer reflecting on the physical toll of aging - "white fingers stiff and cold, the aching bones, the skin-like paper." The repetition of "snow stop moving on, the party's been and gone" reinforces the idea that time marches inexorably forward, and that we are powerless to stop it.
Ultimately, the song is a meditation on mortality - the idea that we are all just passing through, and that in the end, even our memories will be covered up by the blowing snow.
