Hurricane
Sunhouse Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lying lame
Caught in a hurricane
Wonder if my origins are known
Strawberry blonde
It felt like you belong
The happiness you left didn't last too long
The clinical psychologist is gone
I'm coming home
Caught in a cyclone
Depravity is running through my veins
Well I've been scarred
I'm just a retard
Wonder if I'll ever be the same
Feels like I'm caught up in a hurricane
Feels like I'm caught up in a hurricane

Lying lame
Caught in a hurricane
Again
I got it all
But things don't seem the same
Lying low, caught up in the free flow
Lying lame
Caught in a hurricane, again

I'm coming home
Caught in a cyclone
Depravity is running through my veins
Well, I've been scarred
I'm just a retard
Wonder if I'll ever be the same

Feels like I'm caught up in a hurricane
Feels like I'm caught up in a hurricane

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Sunhouse's song Hurricane seem to describe a person who is caught up in a storm of emotions and feeling lost and unsure about their identity. The opening line "Lying lame, caught in a hurricane" sets the tone for the rest of the song, as the singer is filled with a sense of despair and hopelessness. The second line "Wonder if my origins are known" suggests that the person is questioning their own heritage, and perhaps feeling isolated from their own culture and background.

The lyrics "Strawberry blonde, it felt like you belong" suggest that the person may have had a brief moment of happiness, but it did not last long. The line "The clinical psychologist is gone" hints that the person may have received therapy or counseling, but it did not seem to work for them. The chorus "Feels like I'm caught up in a hurricane" repeats throughout the song, emphasizing the sense of chaos and confusion that the person is feeling.

Overall, Hurricane appears to be a song about someone who is struggling with their identity and feeling lost, caught up in a whirlwind of emotions that they can't seem to escape from.

Lovely comments! I was in the band and it's wonderful to know that the music touches the listener as much as it touched our lives as the creators. Gavin isn't a drug addict by the way - at least not that i know of. Thanks to you all for your kind words, its really appreciated. Rob Brooks

Just come here in Feb 2021 under Bill Gate's mandated World house arrest and having binge watched the This is England series. I'm going to source this album keeping the memory of Gavin and his haunted talent.

Wonder if I'll ever be the same.. RIP Gavin ♥ I did not hear his music until he had passed away, I would have loved to have seen him live. Stumbled across him when he sang with UNCLE so glad I did.

Heartbroken this guy is no longer with us. UNBELIEVABLE distinctive voice in my top 5 of all time no doubt PLUS he's a great lyricist AND worked with Shane meadows and UNKLE. Doesn't get cooler than that....RIP brother

@funk67
