About 1961 the members of the band were changed a bit, and Sunny was strongly encouraged to sing songs in Spanish. After much thought and convincing, the gigs and much of the song playlist took place in Spanish. In 1963 Sunny picked up some new band mates, Jesse Villanueva's The Rockin' Vees, in Houston, Texas. Upon doing so, the band's name changed to what we know today, Sunny and the Sunliners.
Sunny left the sunliners and became somewhat of a solo artist. Sunny and a trio of close friends(Freddie Martinez, Augustin Ramirez, and Carlos Guzman)better known as The Legends, earned themselves a Grammy in 2000. Currently there is strong talk about more work with The Legends as well as many various shows and appearances by Sunny Ozuna himself in the near future.
There is soon to be a Sunliner Hall of Fame coming soon to SunnyOzuna.com ! Years and years of fantastic musicians have entertained thousands upon thousands of folks all over the greater United States. We do encourage you to e-mail us your candidates for most popular Sunliner and a "Where are they now " kinda page too !
Wasn't there also a band member named Edward R. Gomez that played sax as well?
Should I Take You Home

As was jaded the sky
We were grooving and the time rolled by
You better not stay here alone
It′s getting late, I better take you home
Your momma's worried
Oh, what will she do?
What will she tell me, what will she tell you?
Should I take you home?
Should I telephone?
Oh, should I telephone
Should I take you home?
Should I take you home?
Should I telephone?
Oh, should I telephone
There′s no excuse that she would understand
So baby, when I take you home, hold me by the hand
We told your momma that we'd be in by eight
She's probably wondering, why we′re late
Should I take you home?
(Should I telephone?)
Oh, should I telephone
(Should I take you home?)
Oh, should I take you home?
(Should I telephone?)
Oh, should I telephone
(Should I take you home?)
Should I take you home?
(Should I telephone?)
Oh, should I telephone
(Should I take you home?)
Oh, should I take you home?
(Should I telephone?)
Oh, should I telephone
(Should I take you home?)
Should I take you home?
(Should I telephone?)
Oh, should I telephone
(Should I take you home?)
Oh, should I take you home?
(Should I telephone?)
Oh, should I telephone
The song "Should I Take You Home?" by Sunny & The Sunliners tells a classic story of a young couple out on a date, realizing it's getting late and they need to decide what to do next. The lyrics depict a romantic scene with the moon shining and the sky turning jaded as the couple spends their time grooving, but then reality sets in as the male partner realizes he should take his date home before it gets too late. The lyrics show that the female's mother is worried and that she may not understand the situation, but the male partner is willing to take the chance and take his date home regardless.
The lyrics show a sense of urgency and the dilemma around whether to take the girl home by himself or to call her mother and explain the situation. He worries about what her mother will say and what his date will think, but ultimately decides to take her home with him. The song captures the excitement and nervousness of young love, while also highlighting the importance of responsibility and making careful choices. The repeated lines "Should I take you home?" and "Should I telephone?" create a sense of indecision and reflect the uncertainty that often comes with new relationships.
