Loving You
Sunset Blvd. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Loving you couldn't be more easy
Missing you couldn't be more hard
Loving you
Sink me in the deeper pain
Teach me the language again
Travel me in distant lands
Dance me your dangerous dance
Steer to leeward of life
Tell me it's a long way
Tell me it's a long way
Hum me the sadest rimes
Whisper the purest ones
Heal me with midnight prayers
Feed me with morning lights
Show me where seas end
Lead me where sun aches
Fly me where clouds fade
Use me as much as you can
Leave me there
Close enough
To the ocean
Say Goodbye
Hold my hand
My devotion
Am I tired
Am I numbed
As the mire
Am I sad
Am I wrong
Or a liar
Take me as far as you can
Wish I could know where will end
Tell me it's a long way
Tell me it's a long way
Sink me in the deeper pain
Teach me the language again
Travel me in distant lands
Dance me your dangerous dance
Steer to windward of life
Steer to leeward of life
Tell me it's a long way
Tell me it's a long way
Hum the saddest rimes
Whisper the purest ones
Take me as far as you can
Wish I could know where will end
Am I tired
Am I numbed
As the mire
Am I sad
Am I wrong
Or a liar
Take me as far as you can
Wish I could know where will end
Tell me it's a long way
Tell me it's a long way
The song "Loving You" by Sunset Blvd. is a poetic expression of how the singer's love for someone is both easy and difficult at the same time. They find it easy to love the person, but hard to miss them. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the depths of love and the emotional struggles that come with it. The words "sink me in the deeper pain" and "teach me the language again" describe the intensity of love, and how it can make someone feel vulnerable and exposed. The singer wants the person they love to take them on a journey, both physical and emotional. They want to be taken to distant lands and to experience the dangerous dance of love with them.
The lines "Hum me the saddest rimes, whisper the purest ones, heal me with midnight prayers, feed me with morning lights" show that the person they love has the power to make them feel all different emotions, from sadness to joy. They want to be taken as far as possible, but they also acknowledge that they don't know where the journey will end. The repetition of the lines "Tell me it's a long way" highlights the uncertainty and fear that comes with love. The final lines of the song, "Take me as far as you can, wish I could know where will end, tell me it's a long way" express the desire to go on this journey no matter what, despite the fear and uncertainty that comes with love.
Overall, the song "Loving You" is a beautiful and poetic expression of the complexities of love, and the desire to go on a journey with someone despite the challenges that may come with it.
