Think the Fountains of Wayne or Barenaked Ladies with Lars Ulrich on drums and Eddie Van Halen on guitar.

Sunspot's most recent CD, Singularity, was named Madison's Rock Album of the Year by the Madison Area Music Association. Two of the tracks would go on to win awards as well, "No Place Like Home" as Rock Song of the Year, and "Sweet Relief" took home Video of the Year.

After joining forces in 1996 as students at the University of Wisconsin, they’ve gone on to record and release five albums, a DVD, and over a hundred biweekly video podcasts (Sunspot Road Mania), and have performed hundreds of shows all over the country, sharing the stage with bands like Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, Sponge, SevenMaryThree, Hot Hot Heat, and Sick Puppies. Punk rock pioneer Milo Aukerman, from the legendary Descendents, has even joined them onstage for a performance on live television.

Some of their biggest successes come from their most ridiculous songs. Their geeky tune, “Scott Bakula”, ended up being used by the man himself as the theme song for his 50th birthday party. Also, their album “Loser of the Year” was named Rock Album of the Year at the Madison Area Music Awards and the next year, the band was awarded the state’s biggest music nod as Artist of the Year by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry.

In December 2010, Sunspot released their first live DVD, Major Arcana, a 90-minute concert film accompanied by audio commentary, special features, and more.

In early 2011, Sunspot licensed their song "Go, Pack!" to FOX Sports for use during the NFC Playoffs and Super Bowl, events seen by tens of millions of people around the world. The band is currently touring and working on new material for a Spring 2011 release.

I just got mine done yesterday on 6 of my flat moles. She said to expect redness the next day. After my appointment my skin felt normal and looked normal. Today is day 2 and no redness, no discomfort or anything . It’s like I didn’t get anything done. I hope it’s working? Lol

Hi Jo, thank you so much for sharing your experience in such amazing detail with us! I have a large sunspot in the exact same location that you had, and am now definitely considering cryotherapy as a potential treatment with which to ask my dermatologist! Would it be possible to inform if you could cover the wound and scab with band-aids for the 1-2 months after treatment, or otherwise camoflauge & protect the area? Did you happen to have a response that you gave to co-workers if they asked about the wound? Thank you again for taking the time to walk us through your journey again, and I'm so glad that it worked out splendidly for you! 😀 🌺🌷💓

Yes you can definitely cover with bandaids! Just keep moist like a Vaseline or similar and cover

Thanks for letting us know about this! I’ve got a sun spot close to my left eye, probably from sun streaming in the car window while driving and not wearing sunscreen. It will definitely be worth it to me to put up with a scab for a couple weeks. It’s quite close to m eye, so hopefully it can be done.

Hi Jo, great video. I too have had a few dark spots. I'm Asian and fair skinned, and went through the laser accutip treatment. Overall, happy with results, it did not get rid of them but definitely made an improvement.

i had 2 basal cells removed same treatment as you... after first week the first flaked off and a week later the other... doctor told me to put vaseline on it for a couple weeks for healing... now its invisible... great cryoptherapy!

I had a very similar, long term blotchy sunspot spot treated with a laser. It was just a one off treatment and total magic! Over about a week all the pigment came to the surface like coffee grounds and then just washed off. That was a year ago and It's starting to faintly come back so I will need other treatments at some point, but it only cost about £50 so that's no biggie.
Agree re the hydroquinone though - smells absolutely disgusting and did nothing for me!

I tried the hydroquinoine, I did not like it. And yes, I covered my treatments with band aids as well during recovery.

You can do this yourself. Get a can of air that you would use to spray dust out of a keyboard. If you turn it upside down; it becomes freeze spray. Use the straw and carefully and slowly squeeze the trigger to apply coolant for a few seconds and put vaseline on it when you're done and a band aid for a few days. Also works on cherry angiomas and small moles but they will likely need slightly more coolant. RN.

I tried hydroquinone twice, prescription strength from a dermatologist - I really was shocked that it did nothing to reduce the sun spotting on the side of my face and hands. I am a medium complexion with a lot of pink undertones - good skin and avoided the sun (can’t imagine what would have happened if I had not). Interesting info, thanks!

I don't know whether it is my skin's need to be difficult or if it's not worth much to anyone - but for me it was useless. You know, until your post on this I had actually forgotten about the dermo doing this kind of thing (they do the same to small moles and skin tags). We get so hung up in the all the new fangled technology, we forget there are procedures that are a lot less and work. Aspirin for example! Thanks again!

Hi I am booked in for this treatment but I can't find any before and after pictures or anyone's experience or reviews of the treatment. Can you please tell me if you would recommend it and if the pigmentation stayed away?

Carly, it went really well. The areas that were treated scabbed over after a day or so; don’t disturb the healing process (don’t pick at the scabs). Once they areas are all healed, the scabs start to come off and the new skin is underneath. A year later and the areas I had treated are still lighter than they originally were. It didn’t hurt or any discomfort.

I was very happy with the results; after a few days, the areas scabbed over (and it was so hard to not disturb the healing process). Then, eventually, my ‘new’ skin was revealed and the spots are still lighter a year later!

Thanks for your Video. I have been buying liquid nitrogen for many years and using a Q-tip to get rid of warts on lots of people. Super easy. 100% effective. I will give it try on my age spot on my bald head. My doctor looked at it and confirmed it was just an age spot. Thanks for the info. I would not recommend anyone trying this by yourself unless you have experience working with Liquid nitrogen. Serious damage or death could result if you handle it wrong!!

I did Yag laser. 2 spots on top of my right cheek. 4 rounds. 300 bucks total at medical spa. Got rid of one spot totally (the lighter one) and another one (the darker one) is about 60% gone.

Hi jo. Great video. I had a very similar sunspot in the same area. I was considering cryotherapy but at last moment started using alpha Arbuthnot from the ordinary. This made a huge difference. The spot faded to the point that I am ok with it.
