Read Full Bio ↴Superchick consists of: Tricia, Melissa, Matt, Dave, Max and Clayton.
Superchick got their first break opening for Audio Adrenaline in 1999.
In 2000, the band self-released their first album, Karaoke Superstars, which was later re-released once they were signed to Inpop Records. Having had songs appear in Legally Blonde, Cadet Kelly and on several television shows including the Real World and the X-Games, Superchick is one of the most played garage bands.
The band's line-up has changed over the years. In the beginning, there were eight members, including crew. Members credited for Karaoke Superstars were sisters Tricia [lead vocals] and Melissa [guitar, vocals] Brock, brothers Matt [bass] and Ben [drums] Dally, Dave [lead guitar, keys] Ghazarian, Andrew [percussion] Vegas, Dan [lighting, pyro] Larson, and Max [keys, guitar, turntables] Hsu.
With the release of their second album, Last One Picked, the line-up listed Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max with the addition of Justin [lead guitar] Sharbaro and Brian [drums] Fitch. Their remix album, Regeneration, marked the return of Dave, with Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max returning. The release of Beauty from Pain brought with it the band's current incarnation with the addition of Brandon Estelle on drums. Recently, Clayton [drums] Hunt, formerly of Christian rock band Dizmas, joined the group in replacement of Brandon.
After releasing four albums through Inpop, Superchick signed a deal with Columbia Records to re-release "Beauty from Pain" through the larger label.
Help Me Out God

I need a little something
Turn the brights on
Cause I can't see where we're going to
And I don't know when things'll work out just fine
Or if this road we're on leads us up
Or is leading me on down to my wishing well
Where I might drown
Cause I can't swim without you God
I can't swim without you God
I can't swim without you God
Help me out God
I need a little something
Hold my hand so I know that I'm not falling down
Or spinning round or am I really just fine
Is this vertigo I feel just simply fear or maybe real
It's a long way down
And I might fall
And I might fall
Cause I can't stand without you God
I can't stand without you God
I can't stand without you God
I can't stand without you God
I can't stand without you God
Help me out God
I need a little something
Just enough so I don't lose hope before morning comes
Cause in the sun things'll work out just fine
But this nights been extra long I fear
I won't make it to the dawn
Cause the night is dark
And I might doubt
And I might doubt
Cause I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
Just enough for today to get me through til tomorrow
Just enough for today to get me through til tomorrow
Just enough for today
Just enough for today
Cause I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
I can't hope without you God
Cause I can't hope without you God
The lyrics to Superchic[k]'s "Help Me Out God" paint a picture of a person who feels lost, confused and feared about their present circumstances, and unsure of their future. The singer is asking God to "turn the brights on" because they cannot see where they are going. They feel like they might be heading down the wrong path that could lead to destruction, indicated by the metaphorical "wishing well" where they might "drown." The singer is aware that they cannot make it on their own without God. They need God to hold their hand, without which they might fall. The singer is experiencing a sense of vertigo, which could be either real or a product of their fear, indicating they do not know the true nature of their emotions.
The singer reaches a point where they feel like they cannot hope without God. They need just enough to carry them through the night, to reach the morning where everything will be alright. The repetition of the chorus underscores the singer's dependency on God, with each plea more desperate than the last.
"Help Me Out God" is a reflective piece that asks questions about the nature of faith, hope, and reliance on God in uncertain situations. It encourages its listeners to turn to God for guidance and hope, especially when they feel lost.
