Having had songs appear in Legally Blonde, Cadet Kelly and on several television shows including the Real World and the X-Games, Superchick is one of the most played garage bands.
The band's line-up has changed over the years. In the beginning, there were eight members, including crew. With the release of their second album, Last One Picked, the line-up listed Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max with the addition of Justin [lead guitar] Sharbaro and Brian [drums] Fitch. Their remix album, Regeneration, marked the return of Dave, with Tricia, Melissa, Matt, and Max returning. The release of Beauty from Pain brought with it the band's current incarnation with the addition of Brandon Estelle on drums. Recently, Clayton [drums] Hunt, formerly of Christian rock band Dizmas, joined the group in replacement of Brandon.
After releasing four albums through Inpop, Superchick signed a deal with Columbia Records to re-release "Beauty from Pain" through the larger label.

But we feel like we do when we make fun of him
Cause you want to belong do you go along
Cause his pain is the price paid for you to belong
It's not like we hate him or want him to die
But maybe he goes home and thinks suicide
Or he comes back to school with a gun at his side
And a kindness from you might have saved his life
Heroes are made when you make a choice
You could be a hero
Heroes do what's right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what's right for what's right for what's right
No one talks to her, she feels so alone
She's in too much pain to survive on her own
The hurt she can't handle overflows to a knife
She writes on her arm, wants to give up her life
Each day she goes on is a day that she is brave,
Fighting the lie that giving up is the way,
Each moment of courage her own life she saves
When she throws the pills out a hero is made
Heroes are made when you make a choice
You could be a hero
Heroes do what's right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what's right for what's right for what's right
No one talks to him about how he lives
He thinks that the choices he makes are just his
Doesn't know he's a leader with the way he behaves
And others will follow the choices he's made
He lives on the edge, he's old enough to decide
His brother who wants to be him is just nine
He can do what he wants because it's his right
The choices he makes change a nine year old's life
For what's right, for what's right, for what's right
You could be a hero
Heroes do what's right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what's right for what's right for what's right
The lyrics to Superchic[k]'s song "Hero Remix" tell a powerful story of the impact that our actions, or lack thereof, can have on the lives of those around us. The song brings attention to three individuals who are struggling - one who is bullied and ostracized at school, another who is dealing with mental health issues and contemplating suicide, and a third who is making choices that could have harmful consequences. In each of these scenarios, the lyrics suggest that small acts of kindness, empathy, and courage could potentially make a significant difference in the outcomes of these individuals' lives.
The first verse describes a student who is an outcast among his peers, and the singer acknowledges that she and her friends are also guilty of making fun of him. The lyrics suggest that the desire to fit in with the popular crowd causes them to participate in the bullying, even though they don't necessarily hate the victim. The chorus then encourages listeners to be heroes by doing what is right and potentially saving someone's life.
The second verse describes a girl who is struggling with mental health issues and self-harm, and the singer praises her bravery for fighting against the lie that giving up is the way out. The lyrics suggest that each moment of courage can save a life, and by throwing out the pills, the girl becomes a hero.
The third verse tells the story of a young man who is making choices that could have negative consequences. The singer argues that he doesn't realize the leadership role he has and how others may follow his lead. By making good choices, he could potentially change the life of his nine-year-old brother who looks up to him.
Overall, the lyrics to "Hero Remix" encourage listeners to be heroes by making choices that are right and by showing kindness, empathy, and courage to those around us who may be struggling.
