She wants to be somebody.
3 1/2 years later she's still not anybody.
Still hopin' for a break
While she waitin' tables,
Realizin' some dreams are fables.
Fear grows when she knows
Throwin' up in the bathroom
Hopin' that nobody knows.
And she fears she's a failure.
She forgets that God loves her
You tried and you failed,
Hold your head up high.
You climbed and you fell,
Hold your head up high.
You tried and you failed,
Hold your head up high, hold your head up, hold your head up high.
"Cause if we never make it ever,
Then it's gonna be ok with me.
'Cause if it's not ok to fall sometimes,
It's not ok to be.
If they don't want us,
It's ok, honest,
It doesn't have to bring me down.
Let them say were not big Rock Stars.
It's not what we're about.
We don't have to be Rock Stars
We don't have to be Rock Stars
They said he'd never make it
Maybe they're right.
His parents never believed that his dream could take flight.
All he every wanted was for them to be proud of him,
It was the whole world to him,
He needed to win.
He gave it his everything
But sometimes it's not enough.
He thinks he's a falure
Now he's not worth being loved.
He forgets he had he courage to climb up so high.
The courage to try.
The courage to fly.
You tried and you failed,
Hold your head up high.
You climbed and you fell,
Hold your head up high.
You tried and you failed,
Hold your head up high, hold your head up, hold your head up high.
"Cause if we never make it ever,
Then it's gonna be ok with me.
'Cause if it's not ok to fall sometimes,
It's not ok to be.
If they don't want us,
It's ok, honest,
It doesn't have to bring me down.
Let them say were not big Rock Stars.
It's not what we're about.
We don't have to be Rock Stars
We don't have to be Rock Stars
It's not about success.
Life is not a test.
You don't pass or fail,
You just do your best.
To see the view from wings of courage.
To push on through when we're discouraged,
It's all about the try,
All about the ride,
Learnin' how you were meant to touch the sky.
Failures are flyers who touched down.
Only they know what it's like to leave the ground
You tried and you failed,
Hold your head up high.
You climbed and you fell,
Hold your head up high.
You tried and you failed,
Hold your head up high, hold your head up, hold your head up high.
"Cause if we never make it ever,
Then it's gonna be ok with me.
'Cause if it's not ok to fall sometimes,
It's not ok to be.
If they don't want us,

We don't have to be Rock Stars
We don't have to be Rock Stars
We don't have to be Rock Stars
We don't have to be Rock Stars
The song "Rock Stars" by the music group Superchic[k] speaks to the struggles that many individuals face when trying to achieve their dreams. The lyrics tell the story of two people, a woman who moves to LA to become somebody but remains unnoticed after 3 1/2 years, and a man whose parents didn't believe in his dream. Both of these individuals are struggling with feelings of failure and disappointment in themselves, despite their efforts to succeed. The woman is also dealing with physical and emotional challenges, as evidenced by her fear of being out of control and throwing up in the bathroom.
However, the song's message is not a pessimistic one. Instead, the group urges listeners to hold their heads up high in the face of failure and to remember that it's okay to fall sometimes. Success is not the only measure of a person's worth, and there is value in simply trying and doing one's best. The group also emphasizes that it's not about being a rock star or achieving fame and glory, but rather about finding one's own purpose and way in life.
Overall, "Rock Stars" is a powerful anthem for anyone who has ever struggled to achieve their dreams and felt discouraged by failure or setbacks. It encourages listeners to persevere and to remember that their worth is not defined by their success or lack thereof.
