(Somos programados pra cair)
Somos programados pra cair
The lyrics to Supercombo's "Amianto" address the overwhelming weight of life's challenges and the urge to give up and allow oneself to be swallowed by despair. The singer, addressing a young girl who seems to be on the verge of jumping off a balcony, urges her to step away from the edge and see the good in life. The metaphor of life as a mother and death as a father is used to illustrate the eternal struggle between the things that are good for us and the temptations that offer temporary relief. Life is like a mother who tries to force her children to eat vegetables because she knows they are good for them, and death is like a father who steals pleasure from the children by denying them playtime and the joys of childhood.
The singer acknowledges that life is not always easy, but reminds the listener that falling is a part of the human experience. We are programmed to experience setbacks and to pick ourselves up again, carrying with us the lessons we learned along the way. Overall, the song is a plea to hold on to hope and to resist the urge to give in to despair. Supercombo reminds us that even when life seems unbearable, there is always something worth fighting for.
