Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away

Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why

Cry, boy, cry
Cry, boy, cry
Cry, boy, cry, boy cry
Cry, boy, cry, boy cry
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
Tell me why

No you never cried to them,
Just to your soul
No you never cried to them,

Just to your soul
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why, tell me why

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Supermode's song "Tell Why" are simple yet evoke strong emotions. At the beginning of the song, the refrain "run away, turn away" repeats, creating a sense of desperation or a desire to escape. As the song progresses, the singer pleads with someone to tell them why they feel the need to run away or turn away from something or someone. The repetition of "tell me why" emphasizes the importance of understanding the motivations behind one's actions or feelings.

The second half of the song deals with the act of crying. It seems to suggest that the person the singer is addressing has never truly cried to others but only to themselves, to their own soul. This could imply a sense of isolation or a difficulty in opening up to others. The refrain "cry, boy, cry" is both encouraging and heartbreaking, as if urging the person to release their emotions while acknowledging the pain they are experiencing.

Overall, the song seems to navigate themes of isolation, desperation, and the importance of communication and understanding in relationships.

Because, this is just picking up something and compress it. Not even a kind of a remix. Just a compression of the original. There's no quality. Just studio engineering. Listen to the original. Just filter the high frequencies and pump the low, not to much, just enough for a more balanced bass. Then you'll understand the dislike. Cheers.

Ricardo do Braga It's still much better quality than any of 2017's "Dance music" BS.

Easily one of the most respected remakes from the great classic song 'Smalltown Boy'. Trance has been a great revolutionary music genre from the 2000's. Wish we had more memorable tracks like this. I could imagine having a movie car chase and i'd pump this song on during the chase. Gives me goosebumps.
