Superpitcher made his first appearance on Kompakt's Total 2 compilation album in 2000 with the song "Shadows". In 2001, he contributed a track to Kompakt's first Speicher 12" and released Heroin, a three-track 12" with three different sounds; "Tomorrow" was later included on that year's Total 3. On 2002's Total 4 there was another track by Schaufler, an electro-pop cover of Brian Eno's "Baby's on Fire". Soon after that, Schaufler released his second 12", Yesterday, which featured re-workings of the songs "Tomorrow" and "Heroin". He also made another appearance that year on Kompakt's fourth Speicher 12".
Since stepping out, Schaufler has done steady remixing work for the likes of Dntel, Carsten Jost and several others. In early 2004, Superpitcher released his debut album Here Comes Love. A year later, he released a mix album for Kompakt called Today.
Superpitcher and Michael Mayer have collaborated under the pseudonym Supermayer. Their debut album, Save The World, was released in 2007.
Schaufler's latest album as Superpitcher, Kilimanjaro, was released in 2010.

We don't need people
We don't need people
No, we don't need, no
People
We don't need people
To be alone
On our own
We don't need people
No, we don't need, no
People, no.
(No people)
(No people)
We don't need people
No, we don't need, no
People
We don't need people
To be alone
We are together
On our own
We are together
All alone
We are together
On our own
Together, together
Together, together
All alone
Together
On our own
Together
All alone
Together
On our own...
All alone
On our own
All alone
On our own...
The lyrics to Superpitcher's song "People" express a sentiment of independence and self-sufficiency. The repetition of the phrase "We don't need people" emphasizes this message, suggesting that the singer or subject of the song has found happiness and fulfillment in solitude rather than relying on the company or validation of others. This is further emphasized in the second verse where it is stated "We don't need people / To be alone / We are together / On our own." These lines reveal a sense of togetherness and unity within oneself - an ability to be content and complete without seeking external validation or companionship.
The chorus of the song introduces the idea that being alone can still involve a sense of togetherness, as the singer or subject is not truly alone but rather "together on our own." This paradoxical idea speaks to a state of being where independence and connection coexist, where one can appreciate the beauty and joy of solitude while still feeling a sense of community and connection with others.
Overall, the lyrics to Superpitcher's "People" present a powerful message about the importance of individual autonomy and self-reliance, while also acknowledging the fundamental human need for connection and community. Through its simple yet stirring lyrics and unique sonic composition, this song leaves a lasting impression on listeners and encourages them to reflect on their own relationship with solitude and companionship.
