In 1996, Oversoul 7 came together as members Geri Soriano-Lightwood, Ramin Sakurai, (Bassist)) Kiran Shahani, and (Guitarist) Rick Torres released "Nothing Like Tomorrow" and "What's the Deal" on two compilations on the Moonshine Music dance label. After the Moonshine releases, Oversoul 7 signed a demo deal with A&M records recording demos of "Truth From Fiction", "Never the Same", and "Last Girl on Earth", all songs which ended up on the now classic "Supreme Beings of Leisure" debut album (released on Palm Pictures label).
The release of the first Supreme Beings of Leisure album sold over 250,000 units with very little promotional touring. Instead, SBL opted to use the internet to market and promote the album, becoming the first band ever to do a "Virtual Internet Tour", and was among the first to use Flash animation for their videos, making them the first true "Internet Band" of the new millennium.
After the release of their debut album, the group disbanded. The core duo of Soriano-Lightwood and Sakurai, however, released the second SBL album "Divine Operating System" shortly thereafter in 2002. In 2003, SBL left Palm Pictures, taking a three year hiatus, releasing various remixes and appearing on various other artists' albums. In 2006, Supreme Beings of Leisure started writing material which coalesced into a new album, the highly anticipated 11i.

A sudden flash try to shakes me
Was someone singing in a dream
I could not understand the voices
There's nothing out there
Am I the last girl on earth
Don't you want me
There's nothing out there
And I'm the last girl on earth
Culture that is left behind cannot replace
The warmth that once was your embrace
And as far as I can see
No starfish seas no love
No love for me
There's nothing out there
Am I the last girl on earth
Don't you want me
If I'm the last girl on earth
There's nothing out there
And I'm the last girl on earth
Out in the valley of wandering sleep
The images flood I can not keep
It's picking me up blind energy
I'm floating on sensations wings
Fluttering kisses I go by
It catches me and soothes my worried mind
There's nothing out there
Am I the last girl on earth
Don't you want me
If I'm the last girl on earth
There's nothing out there
And I'm the last girl on earth
There's no one out there
Am I the last girl on earth
Don't you want me
If I'm the last girl on earth
There's nothing out there
And I'm the last girl on earth
There's no one out there
Am I the last girl on earth
The lyrics of Supreme Beings of Leisure's "Last Girl on Earth" suggest a feeling of loneliness and desperation. The first verse begins with the singer observing the color of the sky before being interrupted by a sudden jolt, potentially an earthquake or a bomb detonation. She hears singing but is unable to comprehend the message. The chorus repeats the phrase "There's nothing out there" along with the question "Am I the last girl on earth?" and "Don't you want me?" implying the singer feels abandoned and hopeless.
The second verse references losing love and the emptiness left behind, suggesting a recent break-up or even a catastrophic event that has resulted in the loss of everyone she loved. The following verse describes floating on "sensations wings" suggesting the possibility that her situation is either a dream or an altered state. However, she is still plagued by feelings of loneliness and insecurity. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the feeling of being completely alone.
Overall, "Last Girl on Earth" conveys the emotions of being the last surviving human, with no one and nothing left in the world. The lyrics paint a picture of a person struggling to come to terms with the new reality of their existence. The repetitiveness of the chorus emphasizes the weight of the situation, leaving the listener with a sense of hopelessness.
