In 1996, Oversoul 7 came together as members Geri Soriano-Lightwood, Ramin Sakurai, (Bassist)) Kiran Shahani, and (Guitarist) Rick Torres released "Nothing Like Tomorrow" and "What's the Deal" on two compilations on the Moonshine Music dance label. After the Moonshine releases, Oversoul 7 signed a demo deal with A&M records recording demos of "Truth From Fiction", "Never the Same", and "Last Girl on Earth", all songs which ended up on the now classic "Supreme Beings of Leisure" debut album (released on Palm Pictures label).
The release of the first Supreme Beings of Leisure album sold over 250,000 units with very little promotional touring. Instead, SBL opted to use the internet to market and promote the album, becoming the first band ever to do a "Virtual Internet Tour", and was among the first to use Flash animation for their videos, making them the first true "Internet Band" of the new millennium.
After the release of their debut album, the group disbanded. The core duo of Soriano-Lightwood and Sakurai, however, released the second SBL album "Divine Operating System" shortly thereafter in 2002. In 2003, SBL left Palm Pictures, taking a three year hiatus, releasing various remixes and appearing on various other artists' albums. In 2006, Supreme Beings of Leisure started writing material which coalesced into a new album, the highly anticipated 11i.

The truth you've somehow turned around
I must resist your soft warm fist
The pounding of a lonely sound
You as thin as rain
And me
I wear my heart
Like a red stain
I fear that I am not enough for you
I just don't measure up
I fear this constant condition
My strange strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction
Strange
I must deny the lullabye
The skin the touch that makes me high
I must deny not knowing why
The truth has left me dumb tongue-tied
You don't feel my pain
And me, I wear my heart
Like a red stain
I fear that I am not enough for you
I just don't measure up
I fear this constant condition
My strange strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction
Strange, strange strange
I fear I am not enough
I don't measure up
I fear this constant condition
My strange strangelove addiction
Strange
Strangelove addiction ...
The lyrics of Supreme Beings of Leisure's song "Strangelove Addiction" express the struggle of resisting an unhealthy romantic attraction. The singer is aware that this person is not good for them, yet they're unable to resist the temptation of this toxic relationship. The first verse conveys the singer's attempt to resist being drawn in by the person's touch and the memories they share. The metaphor of wearing the heart like a red stain symbolizes the singer's vulnerability and openness, which makes them an easy target for emotional manipulation.
In the second verse, the singer acknowledges that they're not enough for the other person, and they constantly worry about their inadequacy. However, this realization does not stop them from continuing this pattern. The chorus repeats the phrase of a "strange strangelove addiction," emphasizing the singer's awareness of their unhealthy attachment, yet unable to break free from it. The repetition of "strange" also emphasizes the irregular and unusual nature of the attraction, which is not healthy or normal.
Overall, "Strangelove Addiction" is a haunting ballad that delves into the complexities of human emotion and relationships. It highlights the internal conflict of wanting what is not good for oneself, and being unable to resist the temptation of a toxic connection.
