Their sound has been compared to a fusion of Talking Heads, Tame Impala, and Steely Dan, raised under the California sun. The band's creative process takes place in their house-turned-studio in Highland Park, where they self-produce all their music, utilizing an assortment of instruments scattered throughout the space.
Since the release of their single "New Biome" in 2016, Sure Sure has witnessed a rapid growth. Their subsequent releases, including the heartbreak-pop track "Friends" and the dance-infused "Hands Up Head Down," earned them acclaim and reached number one on the Hype Machine charts. Notably, they received praise from notable figures in the indie music community such as Grizzly Bear and Rostam of Vampire Weekend.
Sure Sure has established themselves as an exciting emerging band from the Eastside of Los Angeles. Their talent and captivating live shows have propelled them to perform over 150 shows in two years, sharing stages with esteemed artists like Young The Giant, Hippo Campus, Coin, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.

Baby I could die tonight
Dancing 'til I fall
Everybody tells me "Son
We don't move around the sun"
Well, I'll show them all
Cross the room
Like I'm
Crazy
They all say
"Funky Galileo got that fever"
Looking up at the sky
Don't you ever wonder why
We were meant to be?
All the ladies tell me "Dude
Let me see you walk the moon"
Someone hold my drink
Watch me slide
Run and hide
Like I'm
Crazy
They all say
"Funky Galileo got that fever"
Oh, no
Oh, no
I've got that fever
Oh, no
Oh, no, no, no, no
And I've been feeling so pent up
Like an ocean in a bathtub
Nobody seems to understand
They're calling me an evil man
When all I wanna do is dance
Watch me slide
Run and hide
Like I'm
Crazy
They all say
"Funky Galileo got that fever"
Oh, no
Oh, no
I've got that fever
Oh, no
Oh, no, no, no, no
I've got that fever
Oh, no
Oh, no
I've got that fever
Oh, no
The song "Funky Galileo" by the band Sure Sure is a groovy and catchy tune that blends elements of indie pop, rock, and funk music. The lyrics tell the story of a character who is determined to dance and express himself no matter what others may think or say. The first verse starts with the singer pouring himself another glass of wine and contemplating the possibility of dying tonight. This feeling of living life to the fullest is reinforced by the chorus when he dances until he falls and becomes known as "Funky Galileo," a nickname bestowed on him by admirers. The second verse encourages the listener to look up to the sky and marvel at the wonders of the universe, questioning our purpose in life as if seeking to justify the singer's need to dance like a madman. The bridge of the song reveals the sense of isolation and frustration the singer feels from being misunderstood and called an evil man for just wanting to dance. Despite the criticism, he continues to let go and dance his heart out to the funky beat.
The song can be interpreted as a metaphor for the struggle to find meaning and acceptance in life. The singer represents anyone who feels misunderstood, criticized, or judged harshly for pursuing their passions or dreams. The lyrics encourage listeners to embrace their inner "Funky Galileo" and dance to the beat of their own drum, even when others try to hold them back. The upbeat tempo and catchy chorus make this song an instant mood-lifter and a great reminder to let loose and have fun.
