Sures
Sures Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I hear her talk in her sleep
.said and gone
Follow us back home
Feast through the door
I guess, I guess that's always the case
Love in some far away place
Freedom up it's core
And our eyes will meet in our hands, in our hands
In our hands, in our hands
Upon listening to SURES, it is evident that the song is brimming with complexity and subtlety. It speaks to the longing that one feels for a person who is far away and the yearning to be reunited with them. The opening line, “The sun, the sun goes over the sea” creates an image of a sunset, which can symbolize an end to something, perhaps the end of the time spent apart. When the singer states “I hear her talk in her sleep”. This could mean that the person they long for is still living in their dreams and memories, signifying their deep connection.
The singer repeats “in our hands” multiple times which represents the possibility of holding each other, and finally being reunited. The line “she is bout to come, one of us to show, freedom up it's core” is heady and raw, as if freedom is obtained by being with the one you love. The chorus “and our eyes will meet in our hands, in our hands” emphasizes the connection between two people, how their souls and hearts are tied together.
