It's a bit sad to see the Jimny go, definitely one of the best out there now. Chops is always great in front of the camera. Good tips on selling, I'm sick of shoddy adverts with photos in the rain only showing one side of the vehicle and arsey aggressive listings (the FB Marketplace special).

These haven't lost their appeal in the few years since they were launched.
It's a real shame Suzuki never made a long wheel base 5 door Jimny, maybe with a slightly bigger diesel engine. Sort of a tiny, reliable Defender 110.

Whoever becomes the new owner of Jessica will certainly have one of if not the best Jimny in the UK, being number 1 as well adds a bit of cudos. I hope they eventually make the Suzuki JImny 4 doors. I've been hearing rumors for the last 1-2 years. I heard for 2023 a 4 door Jimny will come out. In my case (I don't want a family, get married etc...) the two door is perfect but if they ever make a 4 door maybe you might get a Jimny back :D

I had the same problem with my Suzuki Jimny, great as a second car but to small as a main car. I sold mine and bought a 4x4 Dacia Duster, it's a good honest reliable car, just the right size not too big and still has good 4x4 credentials

At the end of the day this car is set to sell very well. And not because they did an extensive detail and minor cosmetic repairs. But because this vehicle is in extremely high demand. It would be interesting to know what the final sale price is compared to what it would have cost a regular punter to do the extra work involved. Did they get that much more for the car after spending x dollars to prepare it for sale? Either way it will sell for top dollar, no doubt about that.

Excellent Video Jonny and Chops, great tips on selling a car, have only sold two cars privately in the past one I had my great uncle from Nigeria wanting to buy my car if I gave him so much first!! Second time around I sold my last car on Facebook market place again a few scammers but one person a enthusiast to the brand bought my car. Again great tips on preparing the car for sale. Very late Outlander PHEV might work, great cars. Sold mine for a Model Y. The Outlander was better at moving stuff and putting bikes on the back or the roof. The Y has glass everywhere not a good for roof racks and back carriers.

Nice vid and great to see Chops again. Loved that car and is a shame Suzuki dont sell it in UK anymore.

As to replacement:-

New, would probably have to be EV so maybe new MG4 or EV Kia Soul to keep the boxy style going (loved the pimped out one you had at the Somerset Xmas do)
Used, depends if you are leaning Fossil or EV (these days Fossil has to be interesting in some way to justify itself for me eg. cool engine/unique style/one off gimmick) EV is also somewhat limited in choice unfortunately.

If Chops wants something Jimny-esque but with more doors and space, how about a Jeep Renegade? That's what I ended up with instead of a Jimny because I needed more doors and boot space, plus I couldn't actually afford this generation of Jimny *sad face*.

I know the side profile of the Renegade is a bit angular and weird, but with the addition of a chunky matte black roof tray, it ticks the boxes for me with its retro rugged looks.

Just don't get a yellow one and turn it into some sort of rolling Freddie Mercury tribute. I've heard that makes it a bit of an eyesore on that side of things.

There has been a LWB 5-door Jimny prototype spied testing recently, but I don't know which markets that's for (obvs can't be a Kei-class car in Japan at that length either) or when it'll arrive. But that would be ideal, I bet! Maybe an I.D. Buzz if she likes the look of that? Should be big enough. Or, while it's perilously close to an SUV, a Subaru Forester STI.

I am genuinely looking to sell it though (its 15 years old and we do big euro roadtrips so breakdown cover starts to get pricey next year) but doing plenty of digging for a suitable compact estate replacement there are some nice looking and interesting motors for not too much money, they were a bit dull looking for the early 2010s but mid to late ones are all better styled. quite fancy a Civic Touring or Hyundai i30 N Estate but they are a bit beyond my budget so considering a Cat N salvege job and fixit myself.

If you need to cart around lanky teenagers and hockey gear, then you need a V70, an A6 estate or a Superb wagon. If you need to drive across wet grass and so on, get the AWD versions, or a Subaru. Or if you're interested in a quirky motor (the others are worthy and practical but hardly interesting), get a Subaru Legacy or Outback.

Please consider an EV like the Kia e-Niro or Hyundai Kona. If it's still not enough room in the back then maybe consider an MG5. We need more new EVs bought by people who can afford them, so it makes more used examples for people to buy in the future. From the guy who you were stuck in a lift with at FCL 2019!😂

Thought about a 4x4 Yeti ? I think they finished production in 2017.... My 2017 Yeti was fantastic with a 1.4 Petrol, and you can add so many extras.
