Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Svartur Dödur's song "Twist and Shout" are about dancing and having a good time. The first verse encourages someone to shake and twist their body, while the second verse compliments them on how good they look and how they've "got me goin'." The chorus repeats this call to shake and twist, while the bridge addresses the "twisty little girl" and encourages her to "twist a little closer" to the singer.

Overall, the lyrics are simple and repetitive, but they capture the energy and excitement of dancing to a catchy beat. The song is about letting loose and having fun, without worrying about anything else. The repetition of phrases like "shake it up, baby" and "twist and shout" help to create a sense of momentum and anticipation, building up to the final release of the chorus.

well it's good that the beatles are still an influence even tho it's been about 50 years, but to be bluntly honest, this doesn't do justice to the song. far from it really.. but that's just my opinion, and at the end of the day, does it matter?
