The band consisted of Bryan Duncan, Randy Thomas, Rick Thomson and Kevin Thomson.
Sweet Comfort released their self-titled first album on Maranatha! Records in 1977. Their sound was a mix of jazzy, funky rock that was quite a bit different from most bands in Contemporary Christian music industry who were primarily performing folk-rock and soft rock. Few bands had the musicianship displayed by this quartet.
Adding 'Band' to their name, they moved from Maranatha! to Light Records for their second release Breakin' The Ice which was produced by Bob Wilson of the jazz-funk band Seawind. Wilson used the famed Seawind horns to augment many of the songs.
Over the course of the next four albums the bands sound became more mainstream. Their final album was produced by Dino Elefante, brother of the Kansas singer John Elefante, who were both members of Mastedon.
Sweet Comfort Band disbanded in 1984. Bryan Duncan went solo and continues to release albums until the present time. Randy Thomas went on to found the band Allies and has released a solo Christmas album.

Sweet Comfort Band Lyrics

Colors never looked so grey
When deciding
Whether you should go or stay
Hey, don't fight it
Love is on the winning side
Find your place there
Find the love that you denied
Sing it!
Someday you gotta stake your life on someone
One day you gotta give your love a loved one
Please stay and make it pay
Win or lose, you've got to choose
Undecided
Worry doesn't change your way
Let your mind roll
Make your mark with what you say
Hey, don't buy it
When people say you'll never change
Take the vision
God knows how to rearrange
Sing it!
Someday you gotta stake your life on someone
One day you gotta give your love a loved one
Please stay and make it pay
Win or lose, you've got to choose
Sing it!
Someday you gotta stake your life on someone
One day you gotta give your love a loved one
Please stay and make it pay
Win or lose, you've got to choose
Sing it!
Someday you gotta stake your life on someone
One day you gotta give your love a loved one
Please stay and make it pay
Win or lose, you've got to choose
The Sweet Comfort Band's song Undecided speaks about the moment of indecision when it comes to choosing whether to stay or leave a relationship. The lyrics describe the feeling of being pulled in two different directions, and how the colors of the world start to look grey when faced with such a decision. Despite this, the song encourages the listener not to fight against love, as it is always on the winning side.
The song advises that someday we have to "stake our life on someone" and give our love to a loved one, and to not buy into the idea that we will never change. The lyrics remind us that worry won't change our path and encourages the listener to let their mind roll and take the vision God knows how to rearrange.
Overall, the song offers a positive message of encouragement, asking the listener to stay and make it pay, to win or lose, but to make a choice.

just imagine if bryan duncan went secular? he would have been up there with Freddie Mercury, Marvin Gay, Steve Wonder, and Van Morrison as one of the great voices. the versatility of his voice is amazing and still to this day(i saw a couple resent vid's of him singing). when i was young in the 90's i would try to pattern my voice after him. though i rarely listen to christian music but out of nostalgia i put on some SCB and bryan's solo records on.
