Although the project released four singles in the mid '90s, with initial singers Kimberley Kearney and Dacia Bridges, worldwide success came with third vocalist, Tina Harris. Everything's Gonna Be Alright was released in 1997, which topped charts around the world and started a musical theme, sampling classical music, which the project would later become known for.
Tina Harris left after two years, with Jade Villalon replacing her as the fourth vocalist with five original albums, all reaching Gold or Platinum in Korea. Villalon, along with "Geo" left the project after seven years to go on and do other projects.
Vocalist Jamie Pineda took the role as new vocalist shortly after in late 2007 and then releasing her first studio album The Next Generation in 2009, which was produced by Derek Bramble. Pineda released one more album, Diamond Veil in 2011 and it was released in Japan and Korea, as the 8th studio album from Sweetbox.
In 2013, famed Japanese singer Miho Fukuhara became the new frontwoman and for the first time in the projects history, male vocalist/rapper LogiQ Pryce would co-front the project with her. The studio album, titled #Zeitgeist21 is due for release in July 2013.
After The Lights
Sweetbox Lyrics

She was s'pose to be just another girl
For the night
But there was something in her smile
That stopped his breath
She made everything make sense ohh
After the lights go down
Her voice it still echoes in his head
After the lights go down
And after the lust and fame
His heart it still beats to the sound of her name
Sometimes he wakes up
Calling out for the one good thing
He let go
In a lonely hotel room he tries
To relive that night
And to see her smilling for him ohh
After the lights go down
And after the screams go dead
Her voice it still echoes in his head
After the lights go down
And after the lust and fame
His heart it still beats to the sound of her name ohh
The sound of her name
Oooh maybe one day maybe one day ohh oh oh oh hooooo
The lights go down oh oh
Years later he sees her
But when he sees her ring
His words escape
And he doesn't say he still tastes her kiss
And she's too scared to say
That her child's eys are his
After the lights go down
And after the screams go dead
Her voice it still echoes in his head
After the lights go down
And after the lust and fame
His heart it still beats to the sound of her name
These lyrics tell the story of a famous musician who falls for a girl he meets backstage at one of his shows. He initially expects her to be just another one-night-stand, but there is something about her that stops him in his tracks. Her smile, according to the lyrics, makes everything make sense. The lines "After the lights go down and after the screams go dead, her voice still echoes in his head" showcase the deep impact this chance meeting has had on him, long after the concert has ended. He seems haunted by the memory of her and tries to relive that night in a lonely hotel room. This echoes the idea that true love is not just about lust and fame but an emotional connection that lasts beyond any physical encounter.
Years later, the famous musician sees the girl again but is saddened to find out that she is married with a child. He still tastes her kiss, and she is too afraid to admit that her child's eyes are his. These lyrics tell the tale of a love that was meant to be but wasn't due to timing and circumstances. The ending seems bittersweet as the musician still holds a torch for her, and it's clear that his heart still beats with the sound of her name.
Overall, this song is a poignant reminder that true love is not just about lust and fame, but something deeper that can't be bought or sold.
