1. Sweetheart from Kent, OH:
Sweetheart is a post-hardcore band whose four members are self-proclaimed art-nerds, which perfectly describes why the band’s rather disjointed six-track sermon flows with the ease of a stroke of a brush. Chock full of dissonant yet memorable musical passages and laced with luscious jam band prowess, this Kent, OH based quartet showcase a knack for writing powerful riffs that collide with contagious choruses, all the while maintaining a strong level of cleverness and ingenuity.
Members:
ahmed gallab: drums/vocals
michael howard: guitar/vocals
greg lofaro: bass/vocals
bryan parker: guitar/vocals
2. Finnish UG-rockband:
Sweetheart was one of the finest 90's post-punk outfits in Finland. Their Birthday Party meets AC/DC brand of punky swamp-blues was terrifyingly intense on record (which were released by the seminal Finnish label Bad Vugum) but live they were something totally otherworldly, bulldozing everything in sight with pure volume and sonic intensity.
Lineup:
Janne Westerlund - Vocals, Guitar
Pekka Jääskeläinen - Guitar, Bass
Tommi Nakari - Bass, Guitar
Leopold Higgins - Drums, Percussion
3. Canadian Indie Rock Band:
Hailing from Vancouver Canada, Sweetheart was formed in 2004, where fate intervened earlier that same year when Marty (guitar and lead vocals) and MK (drums) bumped into each other at a party in Vancouver not having seen each other since their Victoria childhood. After solidifying the line-up with Sammy (guitar and vocals) and Weezee (bass and vocals), an LP was independently released late in 2006 aptly titled "Map of the Human Heart". Touring the album for 2 years the boys opened up for such bands as Shiny Toy Guns, The Stills, The Trews, Mariana's Trench, Faber Drive, The Dudes, and Two Hours Traffic, just to name a few. With a critically live show and called one of “Vancouver's best live bands”, their stage energy is second to none and totally infectious.

Sweetheart Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The things you never said, the only words I had to hear.
And maybe someday they will but at least you'll know,
'coz I need you to know I'd trade this long walk
And trade this lost war just to have you know,
'coz I need you to know I'd trade.
Say you will say you'll feel the same in twenty years as I have this whole time.
The verse starts with the hope for the future, projecting a possibility where things might get better someday. The singer seems to regret the missed chances, the unsaid words, and desires to be understood by the other person. The desperation in the voice is evident as he/she would be ready to trade anything to make the other person understand the depth of emotions. The metaphor of a "long walk" and "lost war" signifies the struggle and pain that the singer has gone through, and still, the only thing that matters is the other person knowing what he/she feels.
The last line "Say you will say you'll feel the same in twenty years as I have this whole time" indicates the hope for a reciprocation and a future together. It exhibits a deep longing for the other person. The lyrics are emotional, and the singer's voice complements the melancholic tune. Overall, the song portrays a sense of regret, hope, and longing, making it relatable to individuals who have gone through similar situations in their lives.
