Known for their string of superb singles, albums and EPs as well as their incredible live shows, the band have done official remixes for platinum selling artists like Caro Emerald (Grandmono) or Millie Smalls (Island Records) and tours with bands like Caravan Palace or Parov Stelar. They’ve also toured North America, Europe, Japan and India in their own right and have performed at literally hundreds of festivals around the world including the main stage of the Blue Note Festival in Japan.
Their sound is a mix of styles from jazz to hip-hop, electronica to gypsy swing but has been steadily evolving since their debut into a unique vintage-inspired pop.
The first album, PRONOUNCED SWING’GROWERS (2012), was largely a sample-based affair very much part of the emerging electro-swing genre and featuring the two founding members Loredana Grimaudo on vocals and Roberto Costa (A.K.A. PiSk) on production duties.
This was followed with the addition of jazz guitarist Alessio Costagliola for the single QUEEN OF SWING (2013) with guests London-based brass section and producers Gypsy Hill. 2013 also saw the start of the series of cover versions that became the DO NOT COVER EP (2014) featuring guests The Lost Fingers on PUMP UP THE JAM and the bands version of Paulo Conte’s Italian classic VIA CON ME .
Follow-up album REMOTE (2014), saw the band expand to a five-piece with the addition of Davide Rizzuto on Violin and Ciro Pusateri on Alto Saxophone and singles THAT’S RIGHT! and MIDNIGHT.
With multi-million views on YouTube and a hectic touring schedule, the band have settled into their current incarnation of sax, guitar, vocals and beats and following the success of the single BUTTERFLY (2017) released their 3rd full length album OUTSIDEIN in 2018 and are currently touring across Europe.
Midnight

Just a jump and come to you
The rich have money
The bees make honey
Love is never pure
Please can you be mine one more time?
Not once in a blue moon
The rich have money
Love is uncertain so…
Uh uh uh uh….
Is how the wolf sings howls at midnight
He's trying to call out her name
But his love is still too far away
Uh uh uh uh….
Is how the wolf sings at the stroke of midnight
He will be waiting till doomsday
But his love is still too far away.
Babe, I dreamed tonight you were my wife
Sandy, windy, honeymoon
The rich have money
The bees make honey
Love is never pure
Wondering together round the starry sky
Like gypsies do
The rich has money
The bees make honey
Love is uncertain so…
Uh uh uh uh….
Is how the wolf sings howls at midnight
He's trying to call out her name
But his love is still too far away
Uh uh uh uh….
Is how the wolf sings at the stroke of midnight
He will be waiting till doomsday
But his love is still too far away.
The Swingrowers song "Midnight" is a romantic track that speaks about a love that is out of reach. The lyrics are expressive and poetic in nature. The song starts with the lines "Warmed by your light one more time, just a jump and come to you." The singer is drawn towards their loved one but is unable to be with them. The line "love is never pure" suggests that the singer's love is complicated, perhaps not fully reciprocated or forbidden in some way.
The chorus of the song has the repeated line "Uh uh uh uh…. is how the wolf sings howls at midnight". This line is a metaphorical representation of the singer's love. The wolf is howling at midnight, which is when the singer feels lonely and yearns for their love. The line "But his love is still too far away" conveys that despite the wolf's howling, the love is still far from reach. The singer also dreams about a possible future with their love, as they imagine their honeymoon and being together under the starry sky.
Overall, the lyrics of "Midnight" by Swingrowers depict a love that is intense and full of longing but ultimately unattainable. It's a beautiful love song that captures the essence of romantic poetry.
