Their music combined orchestral synth's, industrial rock / trip-hop beats and ethereal, sometimes operatic, vocals. Thus, their original and influential sound was created, often defying comparison.
Switchblade Symphony broke up in 1999, after which Tina Root started other projects: solo Tre Lux and Small Halo with George Earth.

A story which has grown old
Torn of their pride
Stars crash and collide
The wrecking yard's grown cold
They may laugh and they may say that
This doesn't happen oh no
If you happen to see them just listen
These are saddened times today
This sickened place we live
We walk right through the wrecking yard
It's nothing that we give
Listen now to the songs they sing
They try to stay warm
But the cold it stays
Houses are worn
Absent of storm
They're learning how tonight
Dancing in the night
They're shining up above the sky
Laughing in their darkest times
You'll see them asleep in the rain tonight
These are saddened times today
This sickened place we live
We walk right through the wrecking yard
It's nothing that we give
These are saddened times today
This sickened place we live
We're walking right on through the wrecking yard
It's nothing that we give we're going
We're going
We're walking right on through the wrecking yard
It's nothing that we give
Gather round to hear this tale

I miss bands like this terribly...The one thing I hate the most about getting older seeing amazing music come and go...Luckily with the technology we have today im able to hold on to the music that helped mold me into the person I am today.

How can you not love this band? All the songs I've heard from, them so far have been absolutely amazing!

Switchblade Symphony are so darkly unique. In a world of mediocre crap, there are few gems that shine through, but you have to look really hard to find them. This band is one of them! It's a shame they broke up, but what they made is mostly truly excellent.
About the Hot Topic thing, the way I see it is that Capitalism is an all-consuming black hole of cynicism and mediocrity. Some things resist its pull for a while, but inevitably anything successful and slightly popular becomes commercialised and absorbed, for the sake of profits...
