Doubt
SycAmour Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It’s the things we might have done…
That fester inside us
Blow out the fires inside us
I know it’s dire, but
You’ll never know
The weight of a human soul
I’m cold, tantalized by all of the
Blood, blood, blood,
Not ‘til you see the
Blood, blood, blood.

So say what you wanna say, my baby. You’ll see.
Bleed how you wanna bleed, while you can. Darling.
When they come. Snatch you up away…
When The misery causes you to fade.
Chariot. Lift me up away.

What if I wanted to run?
Could anyone hide us?
Somewhere where that no one could find us?
My eyes are tired but;

I started taking my chances when I lost one;
Awakened by cold, abrasive sun.
Living, un-living amongst the lost;
But I’ve seen the blood. Now I’ve seen the blood.

Deep underground, a mother sings lullabies: To her child.
I need know, I need to know how much it means
If I live or leave

We’ll bring, disease and murder
But you’ll see, we can see further than you do.
The truth’s more important:
Than mental abortion, for profit and fucking fortune.
You pried us, away from our sanity.
Chide us, for taking humanity

back, back, back.
Now we’re taking it back, back, back.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of SycAmour's song Doubt present a complex maze of emotions surrounding various existential themes. The lead singer's voice is melancholic as he sings about the things that fester inside us, the human soul's weight, and the need to run and hide from the world. He also mentions the allure of blood, indicating a fascination with violence, power, and dominance. Throughout the song, there is a sense of desperation and hopelessness as he contemplates the meaning of life and the struggle to hold on to one's sanity.

The chorus of "Say what you wanna say, my baby. You'll see. Bleed how you wanna bleed, while you can. Darling. When they come. Snatch you up away...When the misery causes you to fade. Chariot. Lift me up away." suggests a sense of resignation to fate, almost as if the singer has lost hope and is now waiting for the inevitable end. The word chariot is used metaphorically here, probably indicating the act of passing over to the other side.

The second half of the song is more upbeat, with the lyrics asserting the importance of the truth and the need to take back control of our humanity from those who seek to profit from it. The mother's lullaby in the third verse serves as a reminder of the fragile nature of life and the need to cherish every moment.

Overall, the song Doubt is an exploration of the dark corners of the human psyche and the struggle to maintain a semblance of sanity in a world that seems to be falling apart. It urges us to hold on to what is important, to fight against those who seek to profit from our pain and misery, and to never lose sight of the beauty that surrounds us.
