Don't look back
Tťlťpopmusik Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sit Still, and close your eyes
What's behind the other door
No more silence, don't kill this thing we got called love
Just searching for the perfect drug

When Love comes calling
Don't look back
When love comes calling
Don't look away

And I'm standing over here
Watching you over there
Smiling, happy, unaware
Oh, life is spinning round
You're going underground, forgetting who we were
Let's try and keep it just one more day

You take your love
And throw it all around
Like it's nothing special
Just a sound
Let me say one more thing

I don't think you realize
That a day is like a year sometime

Overall Meaning

The song "Don't Look Back" by Tělěpopmusik is a contemplative and reflective piece that explores the theme of love and the emotions it brings with it. The first verse is an invitation to sit still and close one's eyes, which creates a sense of introspection and self-reflection. The lyrics then move into a plea not to let love die and to continue to pursue it, as they seek the "perfect drug" that will keep their love alive. The chorus warns against looking back or looking away when love comes calling, encouraging the listener to embrace and welcome love into their life.

The second verse presents a contrast between the singer and their lover, who appears to be oblivious to the gravity of their relationship. The singer observes their lover from a distance, smiling and happy, but also unaware of the emotional turmoil that they are causing. The lyrics suggest that the lover is distracted and forgetting who they used to be, while the singer is trying to hold onto their love for just one more day. The final lines of the verse express a sense of time passing too quickly, with a day seeming like a year sometimes.

Overall, "Don't Look Back" tells a story of someone struggling to hold onto love and all the associated emotions, while their partner seems to be taking the relationship for granted. The lyrics convey a sense of urgency and desperation, with the singer imploring their lover to appreciate what they have before it's too late.

Lyrics
I brought you something close to me,
Left for something you see though you're here.
You haunt my dreams
There's nothing to do but believe,
Just believe.
Just breathe.

Another day, just believe,
Another day, just breathe
Another day, just believe,
Another day, just breathe.

I'm used to it by now.
Another day, just believe.
Just breathe.
Just believe.
Just breathe.
Lying in my bed,
Another day, staring at the ceiling.

Just breathe.
Another day.
Another day, just believe.
Another day.
I'm used to it by now.
I'm used to it by now.
Just breathe.
Just believe.
Just breathe.
Just believe.

Just believe.
Just breathe.
Just believe.
Another day, just believe.
Another day.
Another day, just believe,
Another day, just breathe,
Another day (I do believe).
Another day (So hard to breathe)
Another day (Not so hard to believe)
Another day.
Another day.

@AImaniaX

This make me sad :( her voice puts me at ease. I deal with depression and anxiety but when I listen to this it all melts away. Her voice soothes my brain and it's beautiful when you hear this in the dark listening to it with head phones. She will be greatly missed.
