Tťlťpopmusik Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't put a smile upon your face no more
I can't make your heart shine like it did before
You don't listen to my stories anymore
You can't comfort me the way you did before

Was I too loud, was I too bad
Was I too open
Was I too high, was I too fast
Was I too close

I don't feel your lips like the first kiss
I'd rather run away than sit to face the truth

Was I too proud, was I too hopeful
Was I too needing
Was I too crazy, was I too long
Was I too giving

No matter how far, no matter how long
I will be there

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Tťlťpopmusik's song "Close" present a somber message of a relationship that has lost its spark. The singer acknowledges that they no longer have the ability to bring joy to their partner in the way they used to. They feel as though their presence no longer elicits the same emotions and support from their loved one as it once did. The first verse presents the idea that the singer is aware that their partner is no longer as invested in their stories, and that they can no longer provide the same level of comfort as before. This feeling of disconnection is then echoed in the chorus, where the singer wonders if they were too much to handle. Were they too loud, too open, or too intense? Did they come on too strong or hover too closely?

The second verse takes on a more introspective tone, as the singer laments the loss of the initial passion and energy of their relationship. They admit that they would rather run away and evade the truth than confront the reality of their fading connection. The chorus then shifts to a more emotional register, as the singer wonders if they were too proud, too needy, too crazy, or too giving. Throughout the song, the singer struggles to understand what led to the breakdown of their relationship, but still holds onto the hope that they can be there for their partner no matter what.

Overall, "Close" is a tender and introspective song that explores the complexities of relationships and how they can change over time. The lyrics are relatable and honest, providing a poignant commentary on the difficulties of sustaining emotional intimacy. The song ultimately ends on a hopeful note, suggesting that even in the face of discord, love and support can still persist.

Lyrics
I brought you something close to me,
Left for something you see though you're here.
You haunt my dreams
There's nothing to do but believe,
Just believe.
Just breathe.

Another day, just believe,
Another day, just breathe
Another day, just believe,
Another day, just breathe.

I'm used to it by now.
Another day, just believe.
Just breathe.
Just believe.
Just breathe.
Lying in my bed,
Another day, staring at the ceiling.

Just breathe.
Another day.
Another day, just believe.
Another day.
I'm used to it by now.
I'm used to it by now.
Just breathe.
Just believe.
Just breathe.
Just believe.

Just believe.
Just breathe.
Just believe.
Another day, just believe.
Another day.
Another day, just believe,
Another day, just breathe,
Another day (I do believe).
Another day (So hard to breathe)
Another day (Not so hard to believe)
Another day.
Another day.

This make me sad :( her voice puts me at ease. I deal with depression and anxiety but when I listen to this it all melts away. Her voice soothes my brain and it's beautiful when you hear this in the dark listening to it with head phones. She will be greatly missed.
