You made a math mistake at 9:05 it is actually better to recycle and not redraw:

Redraw costs 7+4=11
Spent + Redraw = Total Spent

Draw and Recycle costs 7-4=3 7+3=10
The math is simple you just do this
Spent - Recycle = Left
Spent + Left = Total Spending

In this case you still get 1 more void rift energy by recycling

Honestly, after clearing it, I would say Void Abyss failed to meet my expectations as a challenge. It became just a simple dps check. Breaking shield barely matters even at Gaia since you can survive its attack. While I see healers not needing meta healer comp as a good thing, it's kinda disappointing that you don't need to have any great skills to complete this.
I wanted this to be a difficult challenge that required coordination and skill EVEN FROM WHALES, instead whales can just faceroll it with a copium support. I hope next rotation actually poses a challenge for whales too.

Some suggestions for who's still trying to clear it, other than Gate's tips
Run 3 dps 1 support comps. Tanks aren't needed since mob damage is nowhere to be found.
Try to find a party in World Chat. In the first days some benevolent whales should be helping people clear. Probably.
If you have really low damage, focus on playing support and healer if you want to clear early.
If you want to dps, you can try and wait for the end of the month and get all the buffs. Once you have stacked all the buffs it becomes pretty easy.

Lastly. You don't need to sweat over completing it early. You gain a lot of mats for Appointed Research that are supposed to last you an entire month (or even more), so there's a lot of time. Just have fun trying to complete it with your friends or with randoms. Eventually you'll do it

As long as you have a good healer with actual benediction and a brain then it becomes more an issue of DPS vs time on global. I enjoyed the challenge, but it might be just a little bit too easy atm. It's good to have all types of play styles be utilized though, so overall it's pretty fun playing together with people!

Completed all Abyss levels without a single whale. 3 DPS 1 healer. 1 DPS using Shiro discharge with dodge attacks to break Gaia shield. Healer (Myself) using Zero, Coco and Lyra. With Alternate Destiny and Zero discharges to prevent bulk of damage received. Also as healer, I used heart of thorns, physical superboost, numerology, assault resonance, lifeshield, obliterator. The shiro DPS used shatter tech. Other DPS focused on DPS. Completed Gaia with 75 seconds left on the clock. 1 min 15.

@help bts is in my dreams actually I flex all roles. That being said, I did stop working on flame dps and instead started on phys dps. Never throw equipment away lol it may come in handy.
Solo'd culton yesterday with my volt dps set. Was too easy.

@Stelix Hyx Read the description on the discharge though. It increases shatter damage. Use discharge, skill, dodge attack 3 times into the skill field. But yeah managed with 3 dps and healer. Depending on if tank can carry dps as well, then yes they could be a good asset. That being said. I did role of tank and healer but with full heal set anyway. Giving everyone Hyperbody in the process, along with a constant flux of hp and shields.

This is a really fun mode to play! As a low spender with a physical team, I feel like Im needed. My Shiro really shines in breaking shields with this mode.

I think the difficulty is fair, especially when this is just the first iteration of VA. People need to acclimate for new content, can't just go from 0 to 100 in a blink.

Had one whale on the team, and it was stupidly easy. I don't think the devs got the balance right. There should be consequences for failing to do mechanics, but as Gateoo demonstrates, you can just ignore them as long as your team has good support. I think the only issue players might run into is lack of dps to clear the higher stages.

The hardest content of G Game (some phases of Spiral Abyss, Hard Mode Boss Events) is quite harder than this at least current Void Abyss cycle. Just all content besides that is omega baby mode. I miss the cool buffs/debuffs of Spiral Abyss but everyone complained it was too hard. Those weird buffs and debuffs started to make other things in-game that were useless actually viable and interesting but oh well. The hard mode boss events actually changed them into completely different fights. It was great. Felt like a completely different game. All they really care about these days though is to keep the toddlers from crying to milk the cash cow. This one-size-fits-all approach is what pushed me to ToF in the first place which is actually doing what G Game used to do and then some. All good things come to an end.

Coco and zero is enough too, brought Shiro as the third just for some extra dmg and shatter buffs all the way to floor 5 clear on random queues. They were all at least 2 star so that helped a bit to have 6* support weapons to get more of the damage buffs going. My dolphin account only needed 1 healer as well with no tank, so it's way easier than CN's. I like it though. It would suck if you needed whales to clear. I suppose one criticism is that tanks kind of lost their importance. I don't know if there's a buff that absorbs team damage, but that would make tanks more useful than they are right now. The only really dangerous abilities are aoe, so the tank feels superfluous.

Yeah... Came into this game wanting to be a benediction main and then build a tank team later down the line but with Lyra you kinda turn everyone into their own tank (100% uptime on hyperbody + 25% max hp shield + all the HP you give them) I gave up on thinking about the tank team once I saw leaks that said Fenrir was going to be a fortitude weapon that ended up being false. I might think about a tank team again once they release a physical tank but until then Imma just focus on my benediction team (and hopefully get enough to roll for Umi so I can stop suffering in solo content)

One major disagreement: Every time you select a buff from a category, you're increasing a counter that increases the initial cost of pulling from that category. Using the redraw option doesn't increase the counter. So while it may be "cheaper" the first few times to just accept it and then recycle it, in the long run, unless you get really lucky with drops going your way Most of the time, it's going to cost you more in the long run than if you use the redraw option...

there are a number of discharges that remove cc. You could have your support use zero discharge for instance to break the cc and get alt destiny down if that's causing you an issue.

Random match sucks. They have benediction as their match but they are using DPS resonance. Lmao. I hope people are aware they can change their match settings for accurate team up. It kinda ruins the game tho. My first 2 runs were good. There are healers and tanks and HP isnt even going down but VA3 is tanky and most of the random match are using dps reso and yet they used the match settings for benedictor or balance. Lmao

Erm, it's easy unless your group is two f2p/dolphin dps, a baby dolphin healer, and a whale healer. Whale has built precisely zero tank weapons so baby dolphin healer went tank, and we managed to get to gaia but can't get gaia down to even half before we inevitably wipe.

Got 3m gold that is notbeing used so i used 800k and took pure dmg buffs and finished this quickly using ice and phys.

If you guys have been getting the gold in articial island weekly and from support points you will get all it back as this resets monthly not weekly plus as f2p or low spender no reason to save gold.

Only whales need gold due to maxing their matrix each banner. Try it its easy even with randoms.

Had a hard time clearing it with randoms, also wasn't lucky with buffs (after clearing whole void abyss, I ended up with only 2 rare buffs). Took me all day to finish it.

You just need a healer that's awake, our healer for yesterday's clear has rarely played heal in ToF, and used just Nem c1/Coco c2/Tian c1 (usually volt dps main). Wiped once, killed on second try with 4 mins to spare (left and restarted to reset timer). Knack for Advancement II is a completely broken buff, get it early. As long as you can break the shield (I recommend bringing a phys main with Shiro carrying the shatter buff, if you dont have a lot of shatter in your normal team comp - ours had Shiro (me), a Saki and 2 Tians, so the shield went down fairly easy even without the shatter buff) you shouldn't have issues as long as your healer is covering your butt for the mountains of aoe damage he puts out, which isnt too difficult when Nem's chain ticks are 500k each, the main issue is because our healer didn't have Lyra, we didn't have CC immunity and Gaia causes a lot of wide-area knockdowns. The buffs you pick up hard carry you in later stages, the rest is just knowing what you're doing.

To further add to this, if you're taking too long to find the good buffs, leave and restart. You want to be wasting max 2-3 mins on buff gathering, more than that risks running out of time unless you have a whale carrying your damage.

Lyra, coco, saki is disgusting in this. Literally no one dropped under 100% hp at anytime. Just had heals and overshield up at all times. Flew through all 5 bosses like it was nothing. Just a bunch of HP sponges. That's about it

lol tank really useless in this month VA. I plan to focus on fortitude buff at first, but I disappointed how useless it is. So I change to DPS instead. Also, tank didn't have an agro buff, how they could keep boss agroing with all that DPS buff? Saki? Huma? Not very practical.

And I think as long as it's a time based content, with thick ass HP boss and weak punch that couldn't even one shot DPS. Tank forever be buried.

@Black Eye in void abyss also we can test our rotation because of the high hp pool boss. Is feel like its fun spamming skills. I personally think that bosses do a little bit more damage is better than current VA but not one shotted but in the long road i guess VA will be getting harder

@Black Eye I believe he is talking about Culton and Harrah, bosses that you really can't out heal no matter what and you just get one shotted, sometimes out of the blue.

I also did Gaia with a healer and was still getting one shotted or 90% hp wiped, the healer couldn't out heal that and it didn't help that Gaia was bugged for me (was literally invisible)

Getting one shotted isn't exactly fun, especially one certain attacks that are just unfair and practically impossible to dodge.

Currently the fights are boring and I think even frustrating if you recognize that your dps-mates arent good enough to do the boss in time (Im currently a healer)
I would love to see if the bosses deal more damage and have a bit less hp. (it doesnt need to be a one shot tho...)

Was really hoping for a little more challenging content, especially so people can actually play tanks and feel relevant. Now gotta wait a whole month for more in the hope the bosses will be harder then.

@Ayu ah yes, difficult content that is meant to be only completed once per month has to be mega easy for the average global player, i forgot. If you dont want challenge, fine, but some people do. It just builds very bad habbits and the moment you actually need tanks or healers noone has geared them well enough to actually do that content. Whats so hard about that?

@Ayu to be fair, when you have a content where you gain energy over many attempts to build buffs to clear it, but you still clear it on first day, it feels a bit boring, not necessarily a bad thing, but kinda wish I actually needed to wait and get more buffs to clear

ah yes the barometer for if content is good enough or not, "if you can complete it as an f2p day 1."

If you do the following you have no right to complain even as f2p-
1. Randomly team up with anybody without organizing proper dps and support roles.
2. Refuse to use proper Tech buffs.
3. Refuse to use annihilator buff (small chance to insta kill boss with at low hp)
4. Refuse to build even one decent weapon because you think your "waifu" is the only thing that matters.

You can't expect to be able to clear hard content on DAY 1 without progressing yourself and contributing anything to your team. You don't get to make your cake and eat it.

Useless tank, can't even take dmg for tim, not that tanky, still need heal, no damage at all, fantasia(boss is walking in fantasia), can't give buff dmg/resist/reduce/heal for tim, 100% aggro? Tim still die.

Only point in being tank was shatter and aggro and without Saki A3, aggro impossible (thankfully we have that star buff) and shatter? Lol, just save Saki A1 reset with Saki skill and shatter gg ez just need a coco skill shatter buff from someone, why tank bro
