Machine Gun
T.G.T. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hold the gun to you head
Hold the gun to you head
Hold the gun to you head
Hold the gun to you head

Hold the gun to you head
...and pull the trigger
Put your hands out
Put your hands out, out
Put your hands out, out
Way out 'bout shoulder high like they gonna crucify you baby
Like they gonna crucify you baby

Put your hands out
Put your hands out, out
Put your hands out, out
Way out 'bout shoulder high like they gonna crucify you baby
Like they gonna crucify you baby

Put your hands out
Put your hands out, out

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to T.G.T.'s song "Machine Gun" are intense and dark, as they paint a picture of a person with a gun to their head and instructing them to pull the trigger. The repetition of the phrase "Hold the gun to your head" creates a sense of urgency and tension, while the commanding tone of the lyrics gives the impression of an ultimatum being given. The next few lines then shift the focus to the person being instructed to put their hands out, suggesting they are being held up by someone else. The line "Way out 'bout shoulder high like they gonna crucify you baby" is particularly vivid, as it suggests a sense of powerlessness and vulnerability. The repetition of this verse adds to the sense of a threatening situation that the person is trapped in.

Overall, these lyrics can be interpreted in many different ways, but they seem to touch on themes of fear, control, and violence. The image of someone holding a gun to their own head is a powerful one, evoking feelings of desperation and hopelessness. The suggestion that someone else is holding the person up adds another layer of danger and uncertainty, leaving the listener to wonder what kind of situation the lyrics are describing.

"I deal. I win. I deal. Alien Poker. You deal."

I believe between the "Leatherface" and "'Nam flashback", there was a "Ho Chi Minh!" clip.

Oh, to be back in my 20s dancing to this in Charleston, SC...
"Members' Only" jacket, pleated pants, jazz shoes, starched white shirt with a bolo tie, Marlboro Light smokes with a Colibri lighter...

Always had to have Band-Aids with me because... "I was lookin' so sharp, I might have cut myself..."

I heard this in the early '90s. I got the cassette. My brother-in-law had the pinball machine "Alien Poker", and that's where the early audio is from. Shocked the hell out of me!!!

Otherwise, Terminator, Aliens, Robocop, and I'm at a loss afterwards...

"Get away from her, YOU BITCH!!!!"

@Cre80s

What a find!! OMG, it IS Alien Poker!
You got me totally dying to figure out where 9:33 is from, and just found it. It was so hard to understand, and the movie of choice doesn’t really fit the machine gun motif, but it’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. "Leatherface you bitch!” "Nam flashback, nam flashback, aw." FINALLY!!
