Daylight
T.H.I.E.F.S Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When I lie awake at night
Will I find what's right
Beneath the surface lies more
Than what is in your core
It doesn't even matter anymore
It doesn't matter anymore
When the reaper takes my by the hand I will go
Some wheres far beyond this place
Where time is erased
I'll let you know if there's
An afterlife from hell
With my last breath I'll let you know
It doesn't even matter anymore
It doesn't matter anymore
The lyrics of T.H.I.E.F.S's song Daylight express a feeling of hopelessness and a sense of giving up. When the daylight ends, the singer tries to hide away behind closed blinds, indicating a desire to avoid facing reality. Even as the singer lies awake at night, they wonder if they will ever find what is right, which could mean they are grappling with personal struggles or external circumstances that are beyond their control. The phrase "beneath the surface lies more than what is in your core" suggests that there is more to a person's internal makeup than meets the eye.
The song touches on the subject of death as well. The singer refers to the "reaper" taking them away to a place beyond this world, where time is erased. The lyrics may indicate a sense of resignation towards death, suggesting that death will be a release from the struggles of this life. The line "with my last breath, I'll let you know" implies a sense of finality, as if the singer has accepted that their time is almost up.

Lock him up!
@wiggypop
in Jasper, Alberta, Canada my GF, myself and like 20 other people walked by a guy using bolt cutters to free a bike. it was so wide out in the open, we could all only believe he was freeing hisvery own bike... I sure hope that it was his bike.
@chaxologist2961
That's why I'd use 5 locks, 2 of them Sold Secure Diamond and 3 of them Sold Secure Gold to lock up my $4000 + E-bike on both sides of the rack!

There are cameras everywhere--on the street, inside malls, on public transportation, in elevators--everywhere. Smile for the camera!

Cameras everywhere But not a single policeman
@derekjolly3680
It's simply not that way everywhere for one, nor should people who don't want to live in a dystopia want it that way, as a way of living like they're in a prison. But here you go with the pubic surveillance cameras, and Mr. Clean still just walks off with the guy's bike. Big lot of good that's doing! So yeah sure, they have them in stores for the checkers and the entrances and the lines. That doesn't mean there's any for the bike racks, certainly not where i park my bike. That also doesn't mean they're in the parking lots.
