T.Love started … Read Full Bio ↴(Not to be confused with T-Love the Hip-Hop artist).
T.Love started as a punk rock band “Teenage Love Alternative” in Częstochowa (Poland) in 1982. The lineup at that time consisted of Zygmunt “Muniek” Staszczyk (vocalist), Janusz Konorowski (guitarist), Dariusz Zając (keyboardist) and Jacek Wudecki (drummer). They quickly gained popularity, partly due to their infamous habit of giving shows under influence, and were chosen to perform during Jarocin Festival in 1984. The band changed their name to T.Love in 1987, and went on a 2-year hiatus in 1989. Staszczyk reactivated the band in 1991 with a new lineup and more pop rock sound. Today, T.Love are: Jacek Perkowski, Maciej Majchrzak (guitarists), Sidney Polak (drummer), Paweł Nazimek (bass player) and Michał Marecki (keyboardist). The band has achieved commercial success, bringing many of their songs to the first places of musical charts.

I marzy mu się ogromna kaska
Garnitur kupił w wielkim multipleksie
On bardzo bardzo nie chce być ze wsi
Obciągnie zawsze każdemu, kto da mu
Zarobić dzisiaj tysiąc dolarów
Bez charakteru u niego w pracy
Pracują tacy sami buracy
Ref
Come on come on
Warsaw by night
The most beautiful city
I like...
Była dziewczyną z małego miasteczka
I uwierzyła, że będzie modelką
Chce być jechana jak laski z gazet
Przez gości, którzy kupią jej sławę
Kto będzie pierwszym jej chłopakiem
Komu pierwszemu zrobi łachę
Kto będzie pierwszy kto najlepszy
Kto wygra dziś gonitwę leszczy
Ref.
Come on come on...
I z tej historii morał jest taki
Że teraz w kraju królują buraki
I przepychają się łokciami
W czasach powszechnej chłopomanii
Każdy z nich myśli o sukcesie
W polytyce i w byznesie
Każdy wydyma cię za parę centów
Bo teraz w kraju króluje potejto

Come on come on...
The lyrics of T.Love's song Potejto speak about the desire for success and the lengths people go to achieve it. The first verse tells the story of a farmer who moves to the city to make a lot of money, buying a suit from a big mall because he doesn't want to be seen as a country bumpkin. He is willing to do anything to earn a thousand dollars and lacks character in his work. The second verse is about a small town girl who dreams of becoming a model, willing to do anything to gain fame and attention from men. She worries about who her first boyfriend will be and who will bring her the most success.
The chorus, "Come on come on, Warsaw by night, the most beautiful city I like," can be interpreted as an escape from the pressure to succeed, a retreat to the city's nightlife and aesthetic pleasures.
The last verse concludes with a moral that in a country where potatoes reign, everyone is trying to succeed in politics and business and will take advantage of others for a few cents. The song suggests that this pursuit of success without integrity or character is ultimately unfulfilling.
