After appearing in several popular collaborations, in 2010, he released his official debut digital single, "Turn It Up". In addition to rapping, T.O.P is talented in beat-boxing.
YG's staff calls him Keun Seung Hyun, meaning Big Seung Hyun, to distinguish between the two BIG BANG members named Seung Hyun. Before joining BIG BANG, he performed in clubs and even won KBS Radio's "Rap Battle" in 2003 under the stage moniker of Tempo.

Thanks for this comment, just wanted to write that. It think this is one of the best tracks, and MVs, in K-pop. I am amazed how they planned harmonics on simple syllables in the chorus. Featured this track in my 2014 thesis. Interesting that the groups of that time mostly vanished and trends developed differently that I've been predicting.
