Dear Prudence
T.V. Carpio Lyrics

Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence won't you come out to play

Dear Prudence open up your eyes
Dear Prudence see the sunny skies
The wind is low the birds will sing
That you are part of everything
Dear Prudence won't you open up your eyes?

Look around round
Look around round round
Look around

Dear Prudence let me see you smile
Dear Prudence like a little child
The clouds will be a daisy chain
So let me see you smile again
Dear Prudence won't you let me see you smile?

Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue

It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence won't you come out to play

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to T.V. Carpio's "Dear Prudence" are a loving call to someone who seems to be recluse or introverted, encouraging them to embrace the world and come out to play. The singer begins by addressing Prudence, asking her to come out and enjoy the beauty of a new day. The sun is up, the sky is blue, and everything around them is beautiful, including Prudence herself. The singer urges Prudence to open her eyes so that she can experience the beauty of the world around her.

In the second verse, the singer further encourages Prudence to embrace the day. The wind is low, and the birds are singing, reminding her that she is a part of everything. The chorus repeats these sentiments, urging Prudence to come out and play, to see the sunshine and to smile like a little child. The clouds are even a daisy chain, which evokes a sense of joy and wonder. The song's message is clear - embrace the beauty of the world and of oneself, and don't shy away from life's wonder.

This is how friends should treat one another. I got so attached to the characters in this film. They held a bond we all desire in real life, that is nearly impossible to find.

I have been a big Beatles fan since I was a child (Born in 1961). I wasn't sure about this film when I heard about it, because I'm wary of Beatles covers, but quality people were involved in it and the trailer looked cool, so I gave it a shot. I was enjoying the movie very well, and then this scene came up. Not to get too schmaltzy, but it was like something zapped me in my heart and my mind. It was then that I knew that I LOVED this movie. I'm sure that a lot of it has to do with the Lennon/McCartney songs, but the film itself is pretty awesome. I watch my BluRay fairly regularly and stop by to watch this scene all the time. I usually end up with a big goofy grin on my face and tears in my eyes. Definitely one of my Top 5.

This is one of my favourite scenes. This whole movie inspires me as a director, singer, actress, writer, and person. It is the BEST movie I have ever seen. And possibly will ever see. I just am in LOVE with it.
