Raw Ramp
T. Rex Lyrics

Baby I've got metal knees ooh.
Lady I'm beggin' of you please
Baby you think you're a champ but
Girl you ain't nothin' but a raw ramp.

Lady, your lips are the most
Baby, your mouth is like a ghost
Lady, you think you're a champ but
Girl you ain't nothin' but a raw ramp.

Woman, I love your chests ooh,
Baby, I'm crazy 'bout your breasts
Woman, you think you're a champ but
Girl you ain't nothin' but a raw ramp
Baby I've got metal knees ooh.

Lady I'm beggin' of you please
Baby you think you're a champ but
Girl you ain't nothin' but a raw ramp.
Baby, I love your chests ooh,
Lady, I'm crazy 'bout your breasts
Woman, you think you're a champ but
Girl you ain't nothin' but a raw ramp
You ain't nothin' but a raw ramp

Standin' on a corner by my old high school,
I let this female call me a fool
I got on my knees and begged to the sun
And I knew that my manhood had begun
Boogie on, electric boogie, boogie on
Embrace your brother, dance in the mud
Like a Palamino stud
Come along hold my hand.

@NASTY NEIGHBOR As a former dancer and Portland OR resident I can confirm it happens.

Absolutely agree with that. How this never ended up on Electric Warrior is a mystery. It is so much better than Lean Woman Blues. It really is one of the best tracks Bolan did in 1971. EW would have been an even stronger album with this track on it.

Lean woman blues is a classic absolutely brilliant song

Let's get a grip. Lean Woman Blues is perfectly acceptable. Both should have been on there. And so should Thunderwing have been.

Matt Tawesson many greetings to your mother! I’m of roundabout same age I guess. T.Rex nearly after half a century. 😮

I find it kind of odd myself that Raw Ramp didn't end up on the Electric Warrior album. I might have read somewhere that this song was an outtake from the EW sessions. Sometimes it baffles people why B-sides don't end up on the albums, but their A-side counterparts do. This song was the B-side of Bang a Gong (Get It On), from 1971. Bang a Gong was T. Rex's only Top 10 hit from that year. That is a wonderful song. My mom had the original Reprise 45 of Bang a Gong from back then and I learned that it was one of her most favorite songs (and still is). It is still so memorable that oldies stations give it an occasional play. Robert Palmer did a version of Bang a Gong years later in 1985, and it was FAR more rock sounding than the original. It is so much louder that it almost makes the T. Rex version sound almost like soft rock, or middle-of-the-road. There are several bonus tracks on the 2003 Reprise release of Electric Warrior (which is remastered), and Raw Ramp is one of those bonus tracks.

This is a beautiful solo. Bolan is such an underrated guitarist
